Important Dog Training Trick!!!!!!!
"A rolled-up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled up newspaper if your dog chews something or has a housebreaking accident. Take the rolled up newspaper and hit yourself over and over again on the head and repeat to yourself the phrase "I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG" ... " I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG"... If your dog laughs at you when you do this, praise him.:) "

great training ideas.. i have one to add.. if your dog gets lose, either off the leash or off the chain, take the newspaper, and roll it around a baseball bat and repeat as stated above..

Just curious how do you all discipline you dogs?
I raise my voice and that does it for my dog. I've popped him on the butt before when he peed inside but not hard. he was heart broken for an hour after and made me feel bad.

a stern word is all it takes for our dogs, and even sometiems that is too much. we have 2 jack russell terriers, and my step-dad has a real deep, loud voice. he can be ont he phone talking to someone and the dogs can think he's yelling at them and go hide under the coffie table.. it's kinda cute.. our female Jack will climb on your lap all muscles in her body shaking...
I NEVER hit!
As stated, a STERN word is usually all it takes. It's like the saying, "it's not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it". Dogs will focus on your TONE.
IMO, NO need to hit. To me, that's just misplaced anger. You always attract more bees with honey....:) !!!
