I have been away for a few days and I can't believe all the shit slinging which has gone on...

We don't all have to agree with each other.
Everyone has assholes & opinions.
If you want to disagree with someone...do it in a PM. Forums are not for pissing matches. Just because you don't like what someone has to say...is no reason to blast him or her publicly. Your opinion can be stated without calling someone else a "SHITHEAD.? Not saying I haven't done it in the past because I have, but no more.
If you have problem with someone...seek assistance from GAME-DOG staff. If your problem is with GAME-DOG staff...seek assistance from an administrator via PM. (View Forum Leaders (http://www.game-dog.com/forums/showgroups.php?))
Place yourself in another?s shoes. Some of us old doggers have forgot what it is like to be young and stupid.......not picking on anyone......we were all once just as stupid as some whether we want to admit it or not......I don't agree with someone trying to be something they are not but let their own words and actions condemn them instead of you. If we, as old doggers, want their to be a future generation like us, then we had better have the patience to weed and feed those under us.
To you young doggers...listen, learn, and try not to make a fool of yourselves. The staff here has extended an open invitation to everyone to ask questions. Your responsibility is to ask those questions and be ready for the answers. Don't ask a question that you don't want to KNOW the TRUTHFUL answer. Sometimes the TRUTH hurts. It is not intended to always. READ historical info...learn what u can...and then ask the questions.

Well stated JMAN. BUT...I'm not going to let someone try to embarass me in a public forum that has no info to back thier statement or opinion. I agree that we need to do our griping and bashing in a pirvate manor via PM or email and I had asked for that to happen before. I had apologized for my comments because I felt the bigger man needed to apologize first and hopefully it won't happen again. I also agree as I had stated before that it was a childish manor in the way everything happened. I'm not here to get under anyones skin and I hope that the feeling is reciprocated. But sometimes you have to give respect to get some.

Yeah I also think all the members should bond a little bit. i know that a lot of guys/gals here have helped me a WHOLE lot. I've had a couple of people break down a whole pedigree for me so Iwould have an idea of where my dog came from. Unfortunantely she is scatter bred I guess, but she's a good pup and I love her to death. I haven't been in the game a long time and if it weren't for this forum I would still be in the dark about a lot of things. I know everyone isn't perfect about the information that is provided, but I think that everyone does a great job at providing the information that they have. Great work guys keep it up!!

BTW - I just want to say that I have never felt anything but welcome here. I have been fortunate enough to learn quite a bit from some knowlegable men and women on here. I have also been fortunate enough to now have a few friendships that I would not have had if it hadn't been for this forum. It is the best online pit bull community I have EVER come across!

I like this idea too. It may not work but at least we can all put forth an effort to try. I woudn't trade what I have learned here for anything. You oldtimers (guys/ladies) know your shit and it really shows. You may not allways have the best ideas or right answers, but everyone, regardless of age or years of experience, can benefit from you and eachother for that mattter. Thanks!

Hey again people... I have my new dog and her name is Baby. I just got her on Saturday and she's a totally cool dog. She's 100% American Pit Bull Terrier. I never owned 1 before and since I had her, she's so loveable and affectionate. I will be posting up some pics of her that I took over the weekend. She's 3 months old and very cute.

You know, about twenty years ago we used to get together at someones house usually and smoke a goat or brisket and hamburgers for the kids; we would have spring pole competition, weight pull, etc. It was a blast. Nothing illegal ever happened. Now we have computers, sattelite, cable, etc. and are to busy for each other.

The above is exactly what I was thinking. Although the original thought behind the thread was to keep arguments out of public view, i strongly believe that forums are meant for individuals having "different points of view" to intelligently make them without exploting when someone else believes different.

REMEMBER: we come from different backgrounds and States. Our experience with out breed is directly connected with our environment and local culture. We must learn to respect each other's differences and respectfully respond when one feels different.

Let me tell you all what I see. On this site I see those who love their dogs and that is good. I see people who love their dogs and talk about them like children, good. I see those who seem to take pride in their dogs early beginnigs, good. I see people that if I did not know that they loved their dogs I would think they were using them as an extra testicle. Dont mean to leave the ladies out but maybe they are looking for a testicle. I love my dogs, all of them. I am very aware of their history and what could happen today if I were to forget their competitive nature. I do not on the other hand go into public and try and scare Sallie homemaker with my t-shirt professing my pit killing ablity or with the biggest logging chain I can find for a leash. If that is the only way you can contain your dog at home ok I guess but if you need that just to keep it in check then 1 you are mighty strong and 2 your dog should not be in public. Cool names and nicknames are ok for some but when the state legisator has his aids do research on the breed and the one professing their love of the breed have names like "scratch line" and other names generally tied to fighting what will they think of those people. Ok senator my dog is really a sweet heart we just thought the name "baby killer" was cool. I know this type of post probably is not new but if the lovers of the breed are going to give it a snowball chance in hell then what hope do we have. It seems to me that knowing your dog has the ability to defend you and itself should be enough without boasting to the world my dog is a bad ass. And if there are any folks who visit this site who believe that fighting or scratching is the only way to preserve the breed then maybe it should die off. It is irresponsible owner and breeders who are allowing the crap to continue by offering stories to the press for them blow any which way they please it is not the dogs. So tell me how do we save this breed from the idiots who write irresponsible articles about them and the idiots who give them reasons to write. I live in GA and they are going to be for the 2nd time trying to limit our rights when it comes to our dogs. I know there has to be thousands of bully owners in GA but at the last 3 hearing we had, public hearings, there were only around 20 people who showed up. This is the most pit-a-full thing I have seen in a long time. People are just to willing to "type" and "chat" and bitch but are to dadgum lazy and sorry to go do anything to save the dogs the say they love soooo much. It is time for people to put their money and their ass where the mouth is.

I am cool with everyone on this site and I really respect the veterains so I take any rude comments or whatever because that to me really helps me get the point and I realize the reason they repeat themselves and eachother is because they care about this breed and if thats everyone's intent then we should all be cool. the fact that we all have a common interest in the breed should be a great way. Life is to short to knock on other people..if someone says something you dont aggree with,,,i do believe that we can aggree to disagree. there is some more common ground for you. Opinions are what makes us unique and different. It is not to use to bash or knock on eachother. Well put. I have also dun my fare share of BSin on this, and i have decided that it was bull and that everyone is here to state opinions not arguments.

I think that we need to spend more time thinking of ways to bond together.

Great post!

Alot of people don't understand that some people come to this site for advice and guidence to their new found intrest in APBT, some come to just look around and read about the breed and some are here to give advice and guidence. I think that everyone should have a little more respect for each other.
"No question is a stupid question" is what we all were taught growing up- so why call someone names or put someone down because they may not know as much as you do about the subject- when in all honesty they may know more than you in a different subject.
We are all different for a reason and that is to learn from each other!

Another thing is that if you are reading on a subject that you are interested in and all of a sudden you are reading that someone is a dumb a$$ and they are stupid and their dogs aren't worth crap
two things come across that person's mind
1) are these people so immature that they can't keep their temper on a message board in a conversation
2) is this message board even worth joining - am I going to start reading about an important subject and all of a sudden the subject gets changed from chain set ups to - "well I bet your dog ......"
it's all very annoying to those who come to this site to read about the breed.

And too- if you ask for advice and you don't like the answer- you should just thank the people for their input an let it be at that- there is reallt no reason to argue about it because more than likely neither one is going to buge form their position

I agree that if you want to argue- go for it! but do it in private for the sake of the other members-
most of don't care to see it

don't get me wrong- a tasteful debate is fine- everyone gets their opinion out and new comers can learn varying opinions- but when the people start critisizing it gets old

i had a 7 month old pitbull that was hit by a car. My friend was taking care of the dog while i was away it got aout and was hit by a car and got a broken leg. A broken leg can be fixed no? well not if your a pitbull their putting my dog down. They wont even let me see him befor he gets put down. The hardest part abou7t this is he's a good dog never growled at anyone never came even close to bitting anyone. he's the sweetest most loving dog i have ever owned. the pitbull bann needs to stop cuz now i lose a dog that i love and consider a friend because hes a certin breed. if he was a boxer i wouldnt have any of these problems and he would still have a chance to live. He never asked to be born a pitbull and because some owners decided to beat them and make them mean the whole breed has to suffer it's bullshit. My dog cant even get the chance to prove that he is not some type of natural born killer no dog is it's how you raise them and breed them. (Love you bishop and i'm gonna miss you)
