Fight for survival

A pair of marauding pit bulls emerged from the edge of the bayou beyond New Orleans as the floods receded. Bred as fighting animals, their bloodlust had been sharpened by starvation. The dogs, which were wearing collars, had survived for more than two weeks but food was scarce.
They stalked towards their prey, a lone bull: a massive beast more than 10 times their combined weight. Like a wrestling tag team, the bitch and the dog attacked with awesome ferocity, leaping at the bull's head and latching on to its muzzle.
The stricken bull repeatedly shook the dogs off, flinging them up to 15 feet in the air. But they took turns to keep up the attack, exhausting the bull which was by now smeared with blood. Even after the bull trampled the bitch, leaving it dazed, the dog stepped up its attack.
The terrifying assault highlighted the US military's concern that pit bulls would form packs and could attack or even kill soldiers.
It was too dangerous for an unarmed witness to intervene but The Sunday Telegraph flagged down a National Guard truck. Seeing what was happening, a soldier shot the bitch in the head.
The dog paused before resuming the attack. It took two bullets to stop it dead.

hungry be fucked..look how well fed the dogs were...mongrel media bastard would have stole a couple of pets and took em out and sent them into that bull to get a story....funny how reporter just happened to be there but yet not one of the dumb pricks had enough brains to get the dogs off...hope they rot in hell the bastards..media loves to publish bullshit about our dogs don't they..fair enough they attack the bull but why is it they say these dogs were starving etc but when you can clearly see they were fat healthy house pets

I'm afraid I don't see well enough to say the dogs were staving or not by the photos... My eyes aren't too good I guess. Then again if I were to witness something like that I don't think I would be as brave to walk over there and put myself between it. I don't really see why the media is at fault.. They simply feed the public what it will eat and people seem to be on a mission to prove these dogs are evil... We have a long ways to go.

And yes now that the pictures are bigger I don't see any ribs on those dogs... But then again I'm not sure they show in two weeks of scarce food... Then again I've never starved a dog to find out. But Savage, I would think in an effort to salvage the pitbulls reputation I would be satisfied with the "They were hungry" story rather than the "Killing of Livestock for Fun" story... It makes the dogs seem like they were just trying to survive and not just killing to have fun.
they did the wrong thing by shooting these dogs......

Very true... I mean come on the damn cow was in the road too! At least put a bullet in the cow for being part of the group that was blocking the road..

maybe they wanted to play? That thing is terribly large compared to those dogs. Maybe they made a bet as to who could get the cow to moo first. Obviously they didn't do much damage to the animal, and doubtless would have tired eventually. It isn't like they had it down and were trying to rip its throat out.
As for the soldiers-- I know some soldiers, and they're meaner than any pitbull I've ever met. I think they can handle themselves just fine, with their big guns and all. They certainly shouldn't go around shooting dogs just for trying to get a steak.

I was a soldier... And I loves my gun... loves my gun.... I could never shoot a pitbull though... Maybe a Chinese Crested... But definitely not a pitbull.
All in jokes... I doubt I could bring myself to shooting a dog... Unless it was mine and chewed another damn remote control!!

my bro is a soldier, too, and he wouldn't shoot a dog unless it was biting his... er, umm crotch. So, my money's still on the soldiers. Looks like they definitely won this round. Poor dogs.
I WISH THE MAN WHO SHOT THESE DOGS COULD BE PROSECUTED. You can look at the pics and tell that these were someones dogs, not just strays. give them a chance. they definitly went through a lot. We dont knwo their story but they made it throug a cat. 4 hurricane, that takes heart

yep, I agree. But it was probably some dumbass who swallows everything spoon-fed him by the media. You know, Like how "pitbulls are vicious by nature" and are just "waiting to attack the first unsuspecting animal to wander into its path".
yeah pitbull packs now that would be against everything you ever hear about them. the dog agressive pitbull has decided that since it is a hurrican and there are soldiers they will group together in mass and eat their way through the city. AND WHY SHOOT THE DOGS. I WOULDA PLUGGED THE COW AND HAD SOME CHOW. people are such animals more media fed -------- But now we see what a good dog will do lol wonder how game they were?? now i guess they are dead game lol. sick joke sorry.

Well, had those been my pets and I found out about it, I'd be raising hell. Sure enough, if the dogs were hungry and the cow was out of pasture, why shoot the dogs? Did they try to bite the reporter for being a reporter? (not that I'd blame them-- I'd like to bite a few reporters myself)
i bet they never thought to try and feed the dogs, that ashame.:mad:

that pissed me off to see the dogs dead in the road, I would have shot the cow, and let the dogs eat it, maybe its a insane thought, but thats just me! better watch out dogmen your dogs are gonna form into a gang, you gonna walk in the yard they gonna throw signs up at you, do the doggy stomp on your ass.lol
