need some avatar help

how do I get a custom avatar on here? I like my little prarie dog and all, but I just had an avatar designed for me that I find really important to have up.

But when ever I go to the options, change avatar only the ones set up by ya'll are avalible... doens't seemt o give me the option of uploading one

I think only subscribers can upload custom avatars.
