View Full Version : Kudos to Texasbulldogs.... from my Vet

I took my Petey dog to the vet on Saturday for a follow-up visit on his back injury.

Last visit, a month or so ago, I discussed the nutrition, supplement and feeding advice I had recieved here with my vet and left him the web-site so he could come look himself.

My vet said that Texasbulldogs really knew his stuff and he had learned a few things from reading his responses in various threads. He is now reconsidering carrying Hills Science Diet in his practice and looking into carrying better nutritional foods for his patients.

I switched Petey from Glucosamine with Chondroiten to MSM & Glucosamine, as suggested by Texasbulldogs, and he is doing much better. His perpetual pitbull puppy bounce is back and he is moving so much better.

Just thought I would share with everyone. :)

Thanks for the praise, though I’m not sure I should be the one receiving it, YOU ARE! I like most here are only doing what the forum was designed for-sharing knowledge, experiences, etc. about this breed. You though were the owner that wasn’t content with your dog’s current health state and not only thought it could be improved possibly but took the time to seek out the information to see. Most would just except it and never give it much thought, if any. So once again KUDOS to you for being a responsible owner and one that strives and continues to improve their knowledge for the betterment of their dogs! <O:p</O:p

He thought that there was a lot of great info here, especially about working dogs and nutrition. He commented that there were a few rabble rousers, but quite a bit of really good info and he learned alot.

He liked the ability to search through the forums by keyword and the way the forums had sub-forums about health, legislation etc. He also really liked seeing the dedication that many members have to the breed's temperment and ability to be working dogs.

His practice is one that works with a local college to teach vets and vet techs, so he usually drags all the students in when I bring in Petey or Birdie. He wants future vets and techs to see the TRUE temperment of the PitBull breed, not the CNN version or kind many of them see in the streets of New Haven.

He is one of the few vets in my area who actually care about pitbulls and has continued to educate himself about the breed so he can treat them better.

But I would still be scratching my head or pecking away on the search engine if you didn't take the time to share your knowledge or answer my questions.

My dogs are healthier, happier and I am very grateful for your help.

This Is A Good Thread! Texas Is Very Imforative Some Times Harsh But You Have To Be With Some People For Them To Listen.

hoyden i love your avatar, that lil girl is so cute!! and yes texas has saved quite a few dogs!! his advice is what made lucy the great lil bear she is today!!! btw texas she gets to be a better dog daily, she is still really afraid of everything though, she ran away from a bag that blowing in the street the other day, i don't know if she will ever get over it, she runs behind my legs and looks at me like "mom get it away from me" she is such a sissy. i only hope that if i was getting attacked she would protect me and not run away!!!
