tru....but how would you know someones honest?
referrals from past customers ask to talk to some ask around. id think cleanliness and health of the dogs to be pretty important too. but like everyone else said honesty is key. someone who is willing to show and proove what they are saying to be true.

Honesty, Integrity and Know How!
I would have to say, your love of the breed should be first and foremost. Not the almighty dollar.
Also, what people have to say about you should be the same as what they say to you. Referrals and reputation goes a long way.

MY IDEA OF A GOOD KENNEL IS AN ALL-ROUND PLACE. WITH AN HONEST BREEDER WHO WILL STAND BEHIND HIS DOGS UNCONDITIONNALLY. WITH WELL KEPT DOGS,,,,AS IN FEEDING, EXERCISE, HUMAN CONTACT, AND A LOVE FOR THE BREED. AS WELL AS SOME GOOD LINES OR LINE CROSSES. IN OTHER WORDS, I'D BE WANTING A PERSON WHO HAS BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS,,,FOCUSING ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF HIS/HER DOGS,,,AND NOT THE IMPROVEMENT OF THEIR POCKET BOOK.

Usually a good kennel is one you cant get a dog from! Sometimes it takes years before the breeder will feel comfortable enough with you to allow one of his dogs to life its life in your yard. Always be weary of people who will sell pups to people they dont know and dont have any references on, chances are they are trying to just get rid of pups. Then you ask yourself....how good are the dogs if he doesnt care about keeping them to himself!

A kennel that will tell you both the strengths and the weakness in their dogs, honesty, a clean yard, healthy dogs, and they are willing to answer questions even if you don't want to buy a puppy. I see too many kennels that say to "don't waste their time" and only call if you are buying a puppy. I say you should be able to call up a kennel ask questions, find out about them and their dogs, ask others about them, and learn what you can from them without being pushed/or ask about buying a dog from them.
Another note, a good kennel will try and point you in the direction of another kennel that may have what you want if they can't help you.
