Ok, Mia i need help with this one. my t. walker females has bumps that pop up under her skin, they eventually pup with puss in them. took her to the vet, the vet had no idea what it was so she took samples of a busted bump and sent it in to the lab. she is the only dog to have this out of around 40 dogs and pups. we have her isolated. at first i thought it was an allergic readtion, so i gave her benadryl a lil dex and some vet grade penicillan. nothing helped. so we took her into the vet. a friend of mine has 4 young dogs with these bumps all over them, that is why i took her to the vet. i didn't want her to get that bad. he has had these dogs for 37 years. he said he had never seen this beforein any of his dogs. so can anyone shed some light on this for me. has anyone had this happen to their dogs?i need any info that will help
thanks
seark

Mine had it... well he still does... it's mange. At least in my case. Did the vet to a skin scrape for mange?

yes it is not the mantge, she did a scrape and it is not either kind of mange, i mean these are bumps under the skin not jus loosing hair. when the bumps bust the hair is gonne in that spot. but no it is not the mange

Sounds like a staph infection... which must be treated with antibiotics. (Small red bumps that eventually look like a white head zit)

More than likely a staph infection but I obviously can't be 100% sure without seeing it.

Sounds like a staph infection to me. If you can, change her space outside possibly to the other side of the yard. Antibiotics are a given. :)

Might it be...
Juvenile Pyoderma(aka Puppy Strangles)

Had a pup come up with this at 3 weeks old....was put on antibiotics and oatmeal based shampoo washes to ease the itch.If not treated, can swell the glands in the throat and cause problems with breathing. Lucky for me the vet had seen a case a few weeks previous so could diagnose quickly.Poor thing lost hair all over before the treatment was done.Skin went hard and bumpy, then dried out to scabs that came off and took the hair with it.Full recovery, hair came back, looks great.

Good Luck

STAPH DERMATITIS- treated with amoxicilin or any other antibiotic together with a anti-fungal cleaner should do the trick
