I want to ask out there what experiences you have with bloodlines for pulling!!!!

What about eddington or camelot????

It all dpends on the dog. Eddington & Camelot lines might can pull a lot of weight, but they're mastiff cross so ummm, that gives them some sort of advantage. Just watch out for all the hip dypasia that the dogs in those lines run with.

Any true to form APBT line will produce great pullers. There's no reason to look for crossbred mutts.

EDIT: I'm in no way trying to be rude, just honest. :D

I have several that do pull, but only a handful pull in sanctioned events. (I also use pulling as just a fun training activity). My main lines consist of Bolio/Norrod's/old Hemphill/Wilder (OFRN). I am branching out now though but those dogs haven't been tested at anything.

They lie. It's not hard to do. That's why we say "papers don't make the dog".

it doesnt matter the lines. its the training. i took a drive-less lazy pit and gave her the drive to do it..... i trained her to think pulling is fun! thats the way all training should be they learn faster.

Are you saying that a driveless dog can do as good or better of a job than a dog that has been bred for an extremely high level of drive because of training? I can't see a dog that doesn't want to pull in the first place doing better than a dog that will pull its heart out from the beginning regardless of training.
Training can get a driveless dog to pull but it makes alot more sense to get a dog that wants to pull in the first place. That dog will pull that much harder and will enjoy it more than a driveless dog. Take your training and use it on a well bred driven dog and it will always outpull a trained dog that has no drive.

a dog with lots of drive have problems with being hyper E.G- running, jumping taking a run at it. you have to get down low and go slow!

teaching a dog to want to pull and having drive are two differnt things. yes im saying if your trained a driveless dog right, it can do just as good or even better than a dog with natural drive. (too hyper)

just because a dog is lazy doesnt mean it can enjoy athleticizim...... it has to be trained to sucseed.

i work my dogs all the time, im your case the dog is working you. it sounds like your lazy and dont train your dogs.

TRAINING IS EVERYTHING.

lol you didnt give her anyT'ing, her drive was already there, it just had to be brought out (since werent you telling everyone how horrible she had been treated?) Hmm..did you use a treat to train her? Bait to get to pull? If so, she had DRVIE to get the TREAT in the first place and she only PULLS because she knows she will get rewarded.. or to please you.

Drive is not "hyperness" either.. hyperness is excess energy .. lack of self control alot of times.

alot of laid back, easy going dogs have high high drive when they want something..or like doing something..

another t'ing... just for fun.. count the number of times you (pr) say I in your posts "I do this I do that I I I"

well I think you want the attention or people to think you are something.. because if this site and the type of dogs this site stands behind arent your cuppa, why are U still here??? Look at me!! look at ME!!!!!

the dogs make the line. every dog is different...... even if they are the same line.

what if it could be a champion puller but you didnt try pulling with the dog because its lazy and fat and lacks good pulling lines?
