San Francisco, CA -- The San Francisco Police Department reported that it shot and killed a pit bull Tuesday morning while on an eviction call.
According to the police, the incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m., at a residence near Woolsey and Girard streets, when officers attempted to clear the home.
An officer did not get a response from the back room so he opened the door and the dog lunged at him, police report. The officer then fatally shot the animal once.
No injuries were reported.
