Ironhead never really is credited for producing a line of dogs like Bullyson was. Most people think that a lot of supposed Bullyson dogs were off Ironhead, like Honeybunch. And that Hyde's Satch is really off Bullyson and not Ironhead. But only Carver knows.

As Scotsman already informed you, speculation. Some think he was really the base of many good dogs, and some discredit that he did much in the producing category. Depends on who you believe really. Carver also had a statue built of ironhead...and NOT bullyson if I remember correctly. There was another thread pertaining to this some time ago, a search will probably bring it up.

Again from what I HEARD, he simply liked ironhead better as a dog. You know how it is....you can have a yard full of ch.'s but your favorite dog still might be that cold housedog.

14Rock you are right, I heard the same about the statue of Ironhead. I was once told by an ol' timer, that Carver had that statue for Ironhead built out of guilt. He felt bad that ol' Ironhead never got the recognition he deserved.
