View Full Version : Approx. 1,000 Accounts Deleted for Inactivity
I have recently pruned about 1,000 of our members for not being active in the last 180 days (or about 6 months). After everything I am planning for the site is ready to go, this action will be automatic and members who have not been active in 180 days will receive an inactivity and account deletion notice. After receiving the notice, the member will have 14 days (or 2 weeks) to log in to the site or make at least 10 posts (if they have not yet done so) before their account is removed.
The reason that this is necessary is to ensure we have a strong membership and to allow new members to use usernames that are no longer active in the community. This will also remove the extra space in the database taken up by unnecessary entries, thus saving us a little bit of disk space.
I think thats a great idea. Good job shon and marty.

Yea.... there are too many people out there like me who activate accounts, use them once, and then forget about them. In THIS case though.... I can't stay away!

damn I better get posting lol
although I agree with you for pruning members that dont sign in, I myself dont post much on the grounds I feel that I can only learn from the better members here rather than me post stupidly :)
