People! The dog food industry is a billion dollar industry. Any food that passes the AAFCO or ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN FEED CONTROL OFFICIALS is nutritionally complete and balanced. There is really no need to buy pricey or unbalanced feeds, it can be risky. Coupled with a hard keep and bringing down the dog's weight- it can be risky and hard on the kidneys.

If you must add protein, why not a little tuna, chicken wing tips, mackeral or raw eggs? In case you all didn't know- some of these feeds, the high protein, risky ones, are being sold by the purinas and alpos- just under different names--------- so that they corner every market!

Regular ole dog food of TODAY is BETTER than anything the OLD HEADS were using 50 years ago. And they were winning..............

I am not going against anything y'all say, just stating facts- no disrespect to anyone, plz.

I FEED DOG CHOW OR PUPPY CHOW BY PURINA

As far as I'm concerned nothing less than Pro-one by Purina will suffice. Most others Have corn something as 1st, 2nd Ingredient.

there is much wisdom in such a post. but there was no mention of seasons, you know seasons also dictate what type of feed to choose. we normally feed the best we can find with the least amount of corn. because we are lazy, when it comes to picking up shit. i like to make one pass with a small hoe into a shovel and move on to the next bulldog, lol.
in the colder months we simply add fat, bread, or oily substance to feed to get the desired fat layer for the dogs comfort through out the cold season, which is about two months in south east texas, lol.

Go to walmart and pick up a bag of Purina and then a bag of Ol' Roy. Read the ingredients on both bags and then tell me Purina is better. Purina is all I used to use until a buddy told me about Ol' Roy. Same damm stuff in both and Ol' Roy is $4 cheaper on the 50 lbs bags. Guess what I buy now lol.
