Collars for tie outs and walking. Harnesses for working, such as drag weights and mill.

there is much more control in collar rather than harness.

I prefer harness over collars. I walk and dog my dog in a harness b/c there is better leverage with them over collars. Also, if under 2 inches, collars can mess a dog's throat.

Collars for walking (more control) and harness for working like drag weights or treadmill. I also use a harness when my dog goes for rides in the car or truck. I use a special seat belt strap that attaches to the harness and clicks into the seat belt buckle.

I just started using a harness. I like it, but will probably go back to a collar when he grows a little more and I can use a wider collar.

Prong collar for walks, 1.5 inch collars for tieouts & everyday wear, & harnesses only for weight pulling. When walking, all a harness seems to do is allow the dug to put it's entire body into pulling me down the street...not gonna happen. ;)

Mia does the prong collar worker better than a harness (for walking down the street)?

I find that it does....dramatically. With a harness on, my dogs can just put their entire weight & strenth into dragging me down the street. At least even with anormal collar they have some uncomfortable pressure helping to slow them down. With the prong collar (used & sized correctly of course), the prongs are enough to get their attention so I can correct them on pulling. Nothing screams "outta control vicsious pit bull" than a pit bull dragging it's owner down the street with it's eyes set on the Chihuahua in the middle of the road. ;) I definitely recommend the prong collars & I do NOT like the standard choke collars. There's a big difference in the way they work.

i agree also... steele is the same... he seems to kno when hes on the prong collar because he won't pull at all... on any other collar or harness he pulls like crazy... but i only use them when i don't feel like dealing with the pulling should he pull... any other time, i use a harness

I use both.

Collar for regular wear and harness for walking, weighted harness (15lbs.) for flirt pole, conditioning harness for weigt pull training(dragging weight).
