I have owned a black dog now for about 3 months. When I first got this dog he was swollen, infected, thin and full of hook worms. After a long 8 to 10 weeks we get him healthy enough to put on our web site and add in our game dog gallery.

We have been working this guy hard so that we can use him for hogging after it cools off a bit and he was doing great. Yesterday I get a phone call from a lady who tells me her name and she is crying and saying that I have her dog. After a very long day of making a million phone calls and talking to everyone in the country about the guy I bought the dog from I finally found out the crying lady was telling me the truth. This dog had the ladies last 4 digits of her SS# in his right ear. This young man of 24 years of age,way too old to be guilty of such a crime was caught stealing dogs fighting them and falsifying papers. Not only did I buy a stolen dog, I bought a stolen dog with false papers. Thankfully I never bred this guy while he was here, but I am still mad as hell that I put the word out that I needed a Jeep/ Hammonds male was sold a stolen dog. The police said I didn't have to give the dog back because this was a matter between the courts, the lady who really owns the dog and the thief. Of course I didn't hesitate to give the dog back. Although it makes me feel better to do the right thing, and of course my wife saying" now James what would you do if it was your dog, you would want it back just like this lady," :p it doesn't help my pocket book to feel any better after spending $200 at the vet on a dog that I'll never see again. And now the search is on again for a good Jeep/Hammonds male to tighten up my personal bloodline. I think dog thieves should be hung!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I can not believe that the folks in the Ozarks are that much different than those in the Ga hills and Tn hills so if'n ya know who he is then be sure he gits a good tail kicking.

YOu did the right thing... I take my hat off to you for that, very respectable. a lot of people wouldnt have done that.
couldnt agree more about dog thieves, though just hanging them is way too quick. they need to suffer first... long and slow.

Yes he is. I really like this mutt. Great temperment, he likes to work, everything you look for in a dog. I miss the guy already. Now every morning when I do chores it will bug me for a while when I get to his place on the yard.

If you know where the guy lives you can take him to court for your money back. Or at least get him for fraud.

good luck, if was stealing dogs, i doubt anything could be recovered from the ahole. It would prob end up costing more it court fees, lawyers , and time. It becomes a big mess.
You did the right thing... you saved a dog and returned him to his rightful home. We need more people like you! Rep points for you :)
Best Regards,

yes, indeed you did the right thing! You stated the dirtbag that stole the you the dog was caught for stealing and fighting dogs. Have you considered the possibility of making a statement that he sold you stolen goods/animal. If it's an open shut case they probably wouldnt need testimony but it would be a great returned favor for selling you a stolen dog. Glad to hear the dog went back to it's rightful owner. Points to you as well!

She was looking at dogs at my cousins house and was telling him the story of how her dog was stolen and who the suspect was; my cousin said I know right where that dog is and showed her my web site and said that he was there when I got the dog from this guy, and he was. Now this guy is nowhere to be found. Hurray to my cousin for helping this lady to get her dog back, there were a several helping me to get to the bottom of this. Ya know I didn't lose out, I had a call tonight from St Louis from a guy who has a dog like the bloodline I'm looking for and he is wanting to work out something on his dog, hopefully it will work out. Thanks guys for letting me vent, I got to go to work. :)
