Just curious, does a staff have the same people friendly tempermant as an apbt. I know there are not bred for gameness, but conformation. Does that include temperment.

Like the APBT, it depends on the individual dog. Many variables factor into a dog's temperament.

Well, im refering to the average, well bred, well raised, AmStaff. Most agree that the apbt has a great temperment. Curious does this carry over to the Staffs as well.

I agree with Rockstar. I mean over all the APBT is designed to keep its cool under way more stressfull situations than the modern AmStaff. The most stress an AmStaff goes through is; "Why does the judge always pick the damn Foo Foo dogs, it's not fair!!".

A RESPONSIBLE Staffi breeder will include temperment in their breeding choices. I have never owned a Staffi so I can't judge the difference, but, personally,I think RESPONSIBLE game dog owners put temperment higher on the list.JMO

Kinda what I was getting at. I would think temperment would come first. But with show dogs maybe looks first temperment second.

But with show dogs maybe looks first temperment second."ABSOLUTLY NOT" Amstaffs and APBT should BOTH have GOOD Tempermants...just a thought, how is an AKC judge going to go over an Amstaff if it has a bad tempermant ? I agree, they were bred for 2 differant things, their like night & day, totally differant , just depends what your looking for in a dog as far as which.....

Absolutely, properly bred Staffies should be as cool around people as APBT. That is part of the judging criteria.
