Can you guys help me out and tell me what the correct names of colors are for our dogs and if you could post a picture with your response. I am trying to show my boyfriend all the different colors cause we are looking for another puppy. Thanks a lot.

Hmmm, hopefully that's not what you're going to base your decision on. Color? How about health, temperment, not to mention the "G" word? Color shouldn't even be on your list of qualities for picking a pup.

:confused:Although true to not be a reason to base a pick, our breed still comes in certain colors, if she decides to pick a game dog line she has lots of lines in which to pick certain colors, IE lots come mainly brown or red or red rednose or brindle or black or fawn or buckskin, etc, if she chooses a game bloodline that will work for her then she does have a perogative to pick a color in a litter that offers a choice. Just a personal preferance to some,,, in some cases, I picked my first gamedog because he was the only black one in a litter of brindles and I dont like them as much as black dogs, he was also the most active at 6weeks so I didnt soley use color... but as adults if their game screw color Ill feed them.

You are correct Dogman. Sorry I was so quick to bust balls! Just seemed to me like that was the only basis for their descision. We all know what happens when people pick dogs based solely on appearance. Everything else takes a back seat. I have no problem whatsoever if this is not the case. Good luck finding your pup!

Good luck finding your pup!You were correct also Dpres, I do hope color isnt her only basis in picking her new pup. I hope she finds all the good qualities in the one she wants, also Dpres, I appreciate you seeing the big picture some people would have chose to argue such a small thing as personal preference, im so glad im color blind, never found rainbows or sunsets pretty but also never got too caught up in colors..

No color is not my only reason of picking my next puppy, my boyfriend just wanted to know what colors are out there in our world. He has been doing some research for bloodlines and everything. Thank you though

I look at color after considering more important points. I prefer the light color dogs b/c fleas are very easy to detect if on them (in contrast to black dogs). Before any of you come out and say it, yes....I do spray my dog with flea and tick repellent but some of those bugs don't get the point. Thus, I am able to detect them very quickly because of the contrast in color.
