You know how "Flava Flav" is always yelling "Flava Flav"...Thats cool when he does that, I like it...isn't that cool...for real...just talk to him nice...say come on foofy foofy...and motivate him, if its a electric mill start of real slow and show him how to move his legs by actually doing it for him if needed...trust me I have had some dumb dogs realise after not running and pulling on the collar, its more comfortable to jog, then gradually build his confidence until he can run faster, then he will just be a pro out of the blue...when hes use to it you can put a small clock around his neck...and then build up to one like Flava Flavs. He will have that Treat Mill down in no time. You can stand beside him on the mill (holding the leash), start the treadmill slow, and kind of mimic walking beside him. if you see him being hesitant, step once forward (so that your dog is a bit behind) and give him the "come on" command. Hopefully, he walk to stay at your side.
Stuffed animals or animal hide can make a dog work hard. Play with the hide or stuffed animal on a flirt pole and then get your dog on the mill. Position the toy in front of him and he should try real hard to get it. Be sure not to overrun the dog :)

I saw this on that Dog Whisperer show and it worked for mine. Without turning it on, let your dog get around it, inspect, climb on it, then give it a treat or somethin so it knows it's doin right. then start it out slow after it's not intimidated by it. then give it more trreatrs/praise/whatever. After my dog saw what i wanted her to do she didn't give any problems. Just be careful if you run it fast. Mine like to bute the treadmill part, and it can burn their jaw if you haven't got a leash on them.
