For over a decade the city of Vancouver, B.C., Canada has had a bylaw that automatically deemed "pit bulls" {American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and their mixes} vicious and required them to be muzzled. In the wake of the Ontario ban, Vancouver city councillours put forth the concept of a city wide ban for Vancouver as well. This was fought tooth and nail and they backed down. Recently it has been announced that not only have they backed down on the concept of a ban but are also in the works of removing the muzzle law. A HUGE thank you out to the Vancouver Animal Control for publically REFUSING to enforce the muzzle law as I know it had a large effect on the outcome of this situation. To all the individuals and organizations who stepped forward in our time of need {you know who you are}..... you guys ROCK!
