This internet business concerning what breeders have concerning traits and characteristics of any given bloodline HAS GOT TO STOP!! Listing websites and whereabouts of kennels,e-mail addresses,phone numbers HAS GOT TO STOP. The INTERNET HAS BECOME THE DEATH OF OUR DOGS..AGAIN I SAY THE INTERNET HAS BECOME THE DEATH OF OUR DOGS...PLEASE refrain from its use concerning our dogs regardlees of how much money and buisness one might generate from its use. THE INTERNET has become a MAJOR TOOL for all agencies and law enforcment alike to destroy this great breed.. You would think that with all that is happning that we would WAKE THE H*LL Up and see that this INTERNET and Dogs don't mix,just like DOPe and DOgs don't mix. At first THE INTERNET,WEBSITES,PEDS-ONLINE,MESSAGE BOARDS,LINKS,ETC were useful in finding info about our breed,but,now have become a "MAJOR TOOL" To create paper trails(Whether you believe it or not) to convict and arrest individuals who are no longer even active in dogfighting or such activities. These agencies(Customs &Immigration,PETA,Humane Society,SPCA,Etc.)have benefited from our conversations, ON THE NET, To be able to research the family Bloodlines, read famous articles and the like in their Quest to arrest dogmen and Kill "Pitbulls" around this country. SOMe of you may not agree with me,but, you are entitled to your opinions as well. With much passion and Disappointment I write to "Dogmen EVERYWHERE to REFRAIN FROM the use of the INTENET. LET"s ALL help each other....THe bashing of dogs...The talk of who quit,and/or who was game and these websites that post bloodlines for the world to see,is fuel to the fires that are begginning to burn more than the "Oil fields of Kuwait and Irag." I need you..Again I need you to stop giving these people more ammo against us regardless if you fight your dogs or not. The confimation breeder,weight pull breeder,dogfight breeder,hog catching breeders are all seen as one in the same...Open your EYEs to See this. The dog buisness has changed since the infussion of the net.
How would the Humane society and the like know what Floyds dogs went back to if they weren't able to get on sites such as Peds-online,ped-search and study the history by clicking back into 5 & 6 generation pedigrees to see the foundation of these kennels that post their dogs on websites for the world to see. The internet once was usful but now is a poision to all who own pitbulls....If you don't see point...You'e not seeing clearly. Follow the lead of some an delete your peds,delete your websites,stay off the message boards so that we can enjoy our dogs in private and tight fraternity as it once was....I hope all take heed and go back underground like the railroads of of Slavery !!!! Please repost this message everywhere you can and read to all who own dogs.....I LOVE you all SCRATCH BACK...SHK</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>




I have to say, IMHO this makes perfect sense. My reply to this forum was, "I agree with this. I do however think it will never happen in totality because of the humongous ego's and money to be made. I hope it works, I hope I'm wrong. Jawbones

Can't We Use The Net To Help Get Petitions Signed, Positive Press Issues, And For People To See The Good Side Of A Pitbull? I agree with what you said in the original post but in my humble opinion, it is worst to go into hiding than face them head on. The net can be a great tool either way. The Breed haters use it, why can't we? Uneducated BYB can become decent breeders (those that are not) by reading and communicating with the many experienced dogman in sites such as this one rather than listening to myths and the like. How many people have heard of uneducated dogman giving gunpowder (hot sauce, etc) to dogs to make them game? How about having puppies "fight" to train them to be gamedogs? Many individuals that do this do it out of ignorance rather than meanness. Sites such as this educate and ultimately make life better for our breed. I appreciate the information provided by this and other sites. I am a better owner because of this site. In fact, for every individual that learns from sites such as this, there are 5 other individuals that benefit from the original person. Thus, the education provided outweighs the cons. Moreover, how do these agencies get the bulk of information? through the net? No. Most of the information is provided by informants not the net. Yes, this is why the dogmen make it very difficult for new members (or individuals trying to join). There is much distrust. In contrast, dogmen need to trust and allow selected people to join the fraternity. This is the only way "our way" will continue to exist for years to come. Our dogmen must educate the young and inexperience to improve the game and reconcile the sport to modern society.

The game must evolve to survive and so do the means of communication.

Right on. This is why we have e-mail. I called a friend of mine in Texas yesterday and this message has already hit it's mark there. He said from now on when I want him to proof read a pedigree for matching dogs for breeding purposes to send him the ped by e-mail or regular mail, no more forum posting. I know this may seem extreme but, extreme measures must be taken for extreme circumstances.

We can, we just need to learn to be accountable to one another in some areas, use alot of wisdom when we post certain things, and never give the enemy an occasion against us. For the most part I think flying under the radar is just a good practice.
