I have several blue dogs,but I would not have anything to do with BFKC.They could come up with an offset of ADBA or UKC and I wouldn't mind registering my dogs with them.But not Bone Fide,They are a joke.I know of a few people around here that swear by them,but they don't even know how their dogs are bred.It is thrown around big time as being used by these backyard fighters around here.

Hes a good man, and its a very good registry that many dog folk like. As far as what dogs he registers, any dog that can proof how its bred, is entitled to be registered with that registry, you don't have to like it, but thats how it is. Don't have to be a fan of blue dogs, but it is true, that game dogs CAN (however not often) be blue.

I have heard this alot, I have for years now, only used ADBA to register my dogs, (if a person wants to, for some reason or another, to have dual registration on a dog from me than I do go with BFKC) I have never had to wait excessivley long to recieve my paperwork from ADBA (6 to 8 weeks tops) If they are taking longer than you anticipated it to take, you can always call them up and they are very good (at least in my expieriences with them) at finding out where your paperwork is and getting it out to you in a semi-timely manner. They're not going to be as fast as the MUCH smaller registries because they deal with more volume than the smaller registeries which will affect how fast you get your stuff back from them. They are however the #1 registery for the APBT and yes they do now register other breeds but so does every other dog registry that becomes sucessfull. They arn't there to hold your guys hands, they're there to make money plain and simple.......BFKC is cheaper, it's also not as well known, smaller in size and doesn't register the amount of dogs ADBA does. To compare the 2 is like comparing walmart to the mom & pops stores..........

xx24x7xx, I haven't been to her website in a good minute but it used to divide her brood stock by color (Blue females, red males, etc., etc., etc).

I know a fair amount of people with York dogs, and the line does tend to have mostly mild cardiac issues because of the lack of culling and testing.

However, I have seen some good dogs from the line. Moderately built, even-tempered dogs who excel in various sporting outlets. In that way, you are right, as the source of the dog is just as important as what is behind it.

Anyway, not too sure what York kennels has to do with Carl Mims.

I have never used the BFKC as a registry; they seem fairly fly-by-night and I register my dogs to do conformation/weight pull, which I'm not sure the BFKC hosts...
