Ok, I seriously need some ideas to keep Jaha busy inside. My poor dog is going insane because he's not allowed to run outside, and he driving me nuts, LOL. I've never had a dog that wanted to be outside all day sooooo bad! So I need some ideas of inside things I can do with Jaha to keep his whining butt busy. Nothing too physical because his leg is healing.

This spoiled dog has all the chew toys he can handle... I'm just going to get him a giant bone or something that tastes good to keep his attention. I thought about getting one of those Kong toys that they have to work to get the treat. That might keep him busy for a while... He keeps whining at me and going to the door. I take him out on the leash he pees once and is ready to run and play. I get the most horrible look on the way back into the house... Aren't dogs supposed to like being in the house, LOL. Treadmill won't work because he's still not supposed to run... This is only the 2nd day too. Man this staying inside constanly thing is going to drive both of us nuts, LOL.

If he can walk...take him on long walks! Problem solved

The vet said not to take him on long outing either. Only walking half a block and back...I'm going to talk to him again and get him to tell me exactly how much is too much. I don't want to mess his leg up more, especially if there is a chance he can pull in the future. *sigh* What makes it worse is he can hear Brock and Chester outside playing, that really gets him.

These pills that he is taking makes his leg feel better so he thinks he can run all he wants. When really the leg is the same, he just can't feel it.

"Kong" brand toys with frozen bread and peanut butter inside. Those keep dogs entertained for quite some time. Aside from that, you just need to bear with it. The dog is hurt or injured and only time will fix it. Sometimes you just need to knuckle up and deal with it. You also might have too many toys for the dog. Just pick one or two that he really likes and make sure you play with him.

“Only walking half a block and back.”
Then do as you’ve been instructed. If the dog doesn’t heal and is constantly pulling on the leash, walking wouldn’t be any good. Seems you are more, concerned with him being kenneled, than he is. Dogs don’t get jealous of other dogs!

I never thought about too many toys. My poor dog has a toy chest in the living room... *blushes* Maybe I otta cut back on them like you said.

I think you are right Texasbulldogs. I think too damn much. I need to just sit back and relax sometimes, LOL. He just hears the others outside and goes to the door and scratches at it and runs to me then to the door then to me. I want to let him out sooo bad and I can't! *whine* I think you are definatly right, it is bothering me more than him...

“He just hears the others outside and goes to the door and scratches at it and runs to me then to the door then to me.”
How is running and walking all throughout the house, at will, any better than being able to go on a controlled walk outside? Seems if he is supposed to be restricted of activities, he should be kenneled.

He is supposed to limit activity, not completly take it away... He's allowed to walk around and half the block like my vet said. But he isn't allowed to run at all. He's leash trained, so to strain against it is rare, a rabbit running by he'll strain that is about it. He doesn't walk the whole day, half the day he is in his crate. I don't see how being in a kennel is different myself...In a kennel he would probally pace back and forth along the fenceline and not sit down at all.

Got him one of those huge meaty bones, boy he likes that, LOL! He's quite the happy pup. ;)

I can only wait until this is over though, you are gonna have one fat lazy dog LOL! Your gonna need to get him pulling so he can loose some of the weight hes gonna gain from sitting around inside all day and eating big meaty bones! Glad to hear you found something he likes though.
