At CATTLE RUSTLER KENNELS (CRK) ® we have traveled all over the southern enclaves of the United States to acquire the best Alapaha (A-lap´a-ha) brood stock available. With the utmost attention paid to our dogs, we can proudly say, "We have the best specimens of this rare breed in the world!” No brag, just fact! Please, research before buying! Most of the breeding programs with Alapahas competing in shows and/or protection competitions come from CRK stock or were bred from two CRK dogs. You see our dogs are supreme working dogs bred to be the ultimate family companion.

The aim of our breeding program has always been to maintain the vigor, courage and determined character-istics of the original Old Tymey Plantation Bulldog lineage using only foundation Alapaha blood. Our goal is to restore the diminished earlier type bulldog similar to Papa Buck Lane’s Otto IV (http://javascript<b></b>:openWindow('pop-standard.html','lanebrod')) and Chester’s Black Jack (http://javascript<b></b>:openWindow('pop-black-jack.html','bj12')); these past dogs were full of agility, stamina and power. At CRK we strive to maintain the traditional bulldog characteristics while at the same time minimize the variations in height and weight.

From a young age our dogs are taught basic obedience that evolves into everything from weight pulling to protection sports; such as Street Ring, French Ring, Protection Sports Association (PSA) and Schutzhund (a German Police Dog Sport).

wtf is a Old Tymey Plantation Bulldog lineage using only foundation Alapaha blood

A-lap´a-ha Blue-Blood Bulldog Association

Background: The A-lap´a-ha was developed in the southern enclaves of the United States during the late 18th century. The breed originated from crosses of the now extinct Old English Bulldog and one or more of the local herding breeds like the Catahoula Leopard Dog and Black Mouth Cur. The breed has been known by a series of names such as Otto, Cow Dog, Silver Dollar, and Catahoula Bulldog. It was originally bred for the sole purpose of coursing and catching wild and unruly cattle, afterwards establishing its self on the farms, ranches and plantations as an all around utility dog (i.e. guard dog, livestock working dog and varmint patroller). It was not bred to put on threat displays or to look a certain way. But, it did need the right equipment to take care of its real bulldog duties. It needed to be strong enough to catch and hold ornery cattle and athletic enough to catch hogs that were allowed to free range in a semi-wild state. The Alapaha is a functional and unexaggerated bulldog with a square head, broad chest and prominent muzzle. It is dutiful, highly trainable, possessive and attentive which makes them eager companions for children. They are protective of their property and establish their territory at a young age, always demanding attention. They are not suitable to kennel situations, preferring the role of devoted family companion.

ok fellas. The Alapaha, Olde English, Valley Bulldogge, American Bulldog (for that matter), etc. all contain some [english] bulldog & some form of APBT blood. These dogs are nothing more than bulldogs bred fo a specific purpose. To work!! Many people have ideas about the history of today's known English Bulldog. Common sense tells us that our dogs of today, were not & could not have been the working bulldogs of yesteryears. So many people strive to bring back that working bulldog. All of these bulldog breeds are mixes of some sort (e.bulldog, apbt, mastiff, bullmastiff) mix in order to achieve the working bulldog of olden days. Now that a few "established" dogs are out there, the breeding of just those established dogs has developed a new line of bulldog, therefore, a new breed. I personally like these dogs (hence Chipper the O.E.B.). Despite his ugly mug & english bully appearance, he is actually a very athletic dog with high drive & lots of power. Agility? Well, not so much (don't push it ;) ). However, his hips, elbows, knees, & heart are great. He's a great weightpull dog & runs 2 mi. daily with me (at night though...not in the heat of the day). That's something a true E.B. could NEVER do. I love my APBTs the most, but these powerful & athletic bulldogs reminiscent of days gone by also have a place in my heart. They truly are some great dogs.
