Search and Rescue

I have been keeping Pit bulls for 15 years. In that 15 years I seen the reputation of these dog get worse and worse. So, I started training them for search a rescue, and to my suprize they were great at it! I have been reading on this forum, and getting some great advice. But I was woundering if you think that it is a good idea to traine these dogs for search and rescue? I have been told by some that it is great and some say not so great.
