Hog hunting

what is this whole thing about hog hunting. what tdo you do where to you find these hogs. Is it leagal. fill me in on this

Hog hunting is legal here in MS and most other states.You can hunt with dogs or weapons all year,but if you use a weapon it has to be in that particular season.We hunt out in the Pearl River /Ansley marshes and farther.We never use weapons,we always bring ours in live and keep them in a 4 acre pen until time to clean em.Nothing big ,fancy,or glorious about it.Just a bunch of people and their dogs gettin dirty in a day's fun.There used to be hog catch trials,but are now illegal in most states except MS,but I believe it is only legal until January 1 here.We had a catch last night in the country.

Yea, it sucks ab out the hog catch pens. The humaniacs really stomped them into the ground. All of the ones I knew of are out of business now.

you bring em home alive how? i know dogs hold so do you tie em up then load em in truck or what?

yeah.We tie them and haul them in the boat(if we are in the marsh) back to the truck.We only hunt during the winter.Once it turns warmer the gators are too bad.Lost a few good dogs that way.A buddy of mine has about 4 or 5 acres penned off to keep them in.We kill one when we are ready for a barBcue or to fill the freezer.Then when the weather warms up again,any Sows and/or shoats we have in the pen,we release for to grow up for another season.

so there would probably not be anything in central indiana i could use my apbt to hunt for. On a side note how does the wild hog taste in comparision to the reg hog.MMMM Barbeque drools.

I usually don't eat what I see killed(Lol) but I'm hooked.On the otherhand Blue loves to eat what he catches:D . It really is wonderful on the grill.Season it with some Emeril's own. UMMMMMM! Damn you got me hungry.
