We have real nice rings here...I can't tell you exactly the size cause I've never cared, but I know they are big and thick and they are what we are using. They are 1.00 or 1.25 a piece I believe last time I bought some. Let me know if you are interested and I can pick you up some.

save yourself the trouble and hook your chain directly to your axle with a 7/16" coldshut and mushroom the head of it out.....the less moving parts the less there is to break....also with the axel beat down a couple inches below the ground the dogs are less likely to pull it up/out ......its also cheaper to set the chains up like this....and they are less likely to get tangled up.......after a couple months a little hill of dirt will form over the axel....making it that much more secure....and that much harder for dog thieves to pull up.....

Does Anyone Know Where I Can Find Solid O-rings?? Not The Welded OnesWe ordered ours from the local feed store, they were like $15.00 though!
I have solid metal O-rings Stainless & last forever. Come in all sizes. I'll tell ya'll where to get them. (MY good deed for the year) I use ring gaskets that I get from Machine fabricating shops. They use them for pressure testing parts. They can only be used a few times & then they discard them. They are approx 1/2" thick & 5/8" wide 2" inside diameter to 5" inside diameter. I have never seen a better ring to use on axels.

I have never had a 230 axle come out of the ground...NEVER...especially after my 20lb sledge meets it on a "dry" day...might as well be in concrete...and I dont use rings I just loop chain around it smaller than the flange and pad lock it...instant swivel and no extra parts...and it cant get above the axle so no tangles ..at all..I leave the flange out of the dirt at least 2 inches...Thats what we use to do, but the chain wares at the axle from turning on it, the rings we use now are 3/8 weldless rings and 3in inside.takes awhile to get any ware :)
