Start a puppy getting used to wearing the harness. After it gets used to wearing the harness add a rope for it to drag. Then add an empty milk carton. It's ok to do LIGHT stuff with a pup but do NOT push it to try to make it pull heavy weights because you can really screw it up. Dogs aren't even allowed to pull in compititions until they are at very least a year old.

6 months is a good age to start introducing your do to it but of course nothing heavy just basic technic training, obedience, getting used to the harness and something behind him or her. The A.D.B.A. doesn`t allow a dog enter until it is 9 months old. Some dogs just never get interested in this but others are so eager to please that they excel.Start a puppy getting used to wearing the harness. Can anyone recommend any websites or books that describe training methods? I want to start my pup in a few months. Also, how can I find a competition? I've been looking on the web and haven't found any recent info.

I think the best age to really start weight pullin' your dog is about 1 year, but you can get them started real young to get used to the harness and all. When my dog was very young i had a harnnes on him and he pulled around a little rock, Lol, he didn't even notice it back there, it only takes him 1 time to get used to anything.

where is a good place to buy a puppy harness at. I wish there were someone around close to where i live that would carry the basic bull dog supplies such as rings, chains dog food and collars harnesses, tread mills and the like.

LOL, don't we all.....but then, "someone";) would just use it against bulldoggers IMO......They'd just say it was a dog-fighter store, "why else would some one need a treadmill"....lolwhere is a good place to buy a puppy harness at.
