hey why do you think people in philly are fat, scrapple and cheese steaks, and tasty cakes, and hell all we eat is fatty food, not to say all of us are fat but there are a lot of really big ones.

your dog filling out can be accomplished by feeding the recommended amounts of dog food that is required for her size. Exceed is a good brand of dog food to go with in my opinion. Its not the bulking up of a dog that has some secrete practice. Its in the conditioning of the dog that does the trick

I posted before that i've seen many people bulk up dogs by adding frozen Billjac to their normal high quality dog food, especially people raising American Bulldogs. You can buy a bag for $4.00 at any pet supermarket, its based of liver I believe, and most dogs love it. Now I will say that if you have a young pitbull then it might not be a good idea to bulk it up. Reason being is that how she looks is based on genetics and alot of pits grow their height and frame their first year, then afterwards they fill out naturally on their own. Bulking it up is just like eating Mcdonalds everyday and getting overweight, it will take away from her performance and her health will be affected. The best way is to let her grown on her own off a high quality food, then when she fills out on her own it will be from solid muscle as oppsed to bulking up with fat, in the end she will look much better and more muscular. At that time you can begin conditioning or whatever form of excercise you may choose to build alittle more muscle. Keep in mind its in your dogs best interest to keep him cut and fit as apposed to bulking health wise, and she will preform much better having more wind and less weight to carry.

She is just a pup im prob being over ancious. I what I was told a real good food "natural choice for large breed puppys" I have been giving her 3.5cups a day on average. I think im going to try that nupro stuff I hear lots of good things. Do you guys think I should wait till she is a lil older?

3.5 cups a day is way too much to begin with especially with a pup. My grown dogs get 2 cups a day (i feed pro plan performance) and stay at a healthy steady weight.

It says on the bag anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 1/4 for her size. I also read somewhere else on the forum where a few people said 3 cups was not enough and for there pups they just make sure there bowl is always full.

It really depends on the pup itself. Not all have the same metabolism, and you'll probably notice a huge difference in her weight gain once she's been wormed :)

Don't cut back feed on pups. They should be allowed more feed than adult dogs. Adult dogs are not growing and building muscle and skeletol tissues. I generally give my pups as much food as they can eat. There is nothing wrong with having a little extra weight on a pup. I generally start to cut the feed back to 2-3 cups depending on the size of the dog once they hit 10 months. The majority of their growing is done and their nutritional requirements decrease considerably. If the dog is staying pudgy, cut back a half cup. If the dog is losing weight, increase a half cup. You should be able to find a happy medium once the dog has matured into an adolecent bulldog. I don't like to keep my dogs much over 3-5 lbs over conditioned weight because a few pounds on a dog is like a human carrying around 10-20 extra lbs and it is not good for their body or heart.

good post, thats exactly how I raise my puppies. Feed em good in the beginning, then when they slow down, shed that excess puppy weight.

The worms can in some cases cause a bloated belly look, one when I brought a pup home I wormed her the same day and she lost a very little bit of weight over a few days, as soon as the parasites were gone, she steadily gained weight and her coat started really looking nice.

It will be much easier for you to determine the right amount of food to feed her once she's cleared out.
