wondering if anyone can help me out with leash training my 13 week old pup? Its weird, usualy i have to pull him around, he doesnt want to go, then when he does get going, there is still tension on the leash. also, sometimes he wont go at all, i can take off and he just sits there, i have to pull on him and sometimes he still wont go. I carry treats and the clicker with me and the few times he does walk right on the leash, i stop and click and treat several times, but seems i need more help than that..

HI,
I need some help, I read the post in the link but its not what I am looking for. I want to know at what age is it good to start training leash walking. (My pup is 8 weeks.) I have tried to teach her in the house so she can start getting use to it but omg what a problem this girl wont move at all and starts to cry and wiggle all around. Treats don't even work when I let her smell the treat so she can follow it or be interested she doesn't care for it. I would like to know if I'm trying to early and if not what can you recommend for a pup who wont even budge a bit. I also want to know if a training collar (choke collar) is a good thing to use for this and if so at what age is a good time to start using one for training purposes.
Thank You in advance!!!;)

for now, i would just let her run around the house with a very short lead on. Skip the choke collar. Its usually not needed if you start them out right.
just let her get use to the lead. What i would do is while still keeping an eye on her, pretty much ignore her Let her do her own thing. No baby taking, etc. The more u baby talk and coddle the pup, the more she will think you want her to whine and carry on.
You can also put the leash on and giver her a chew toy..like a kong stuffed with kibble or treats..it will help her start to associate the leash with asomething good and pleasant
sometimes we try to rush our pups way to much,. She just might be a slower maturing pup. Dont rush things, take your time. Let her build up her confidence in herself and you, and she should come around just fine.
