I was informed by a Cuyahoga County dog warden That I need to carry a 100,000 dollar liability insurance to legally have my dog. I am not aware of any breed specific legislation in the state of Ohio. Do I have any legal recourse? Is anyone aware of an insurance company who would cover me? I am desperate to keep my dog. She is an absolute sweetheart.

I don't know what to tell you about Ohio, except get on the state's government webpage & do a search for the term "pit bull". It will tell you about any legislation (past, present, & future) about ownership of the breed. As for insurance companies, State Farm is your best bet. But call many different agents. Just b/c one agent won't write a policy doesn't mean that another won't. It's up to each agent. Also, S.F. doesn't have a breed specific policy, they just ask you if you have dogs or not. Good luck!
