Hello,
I am not new to this beautiful breed, but I do have kind of a newbie question I need some help with...

I picked up a 3 month old female yesterday she's so beautiful (looks exactly like SpencerPits, Sally) The problem I am having is that my male, just turned 1 yr. will not leaver her alone, and by this I mean non stop smelling her...to put it nicely "area". He is also drooling worse than a St. Bernard. Is this normal? I know she is to young to be in heat, so I just don't understand why he is acting this way... as soon as he is around her he goes right to the same spot. He is not "altered" yet, which may be part of the problem.

I guess my question in a nut shell is what can I do to prevent him from reacting this way to her? Or will this reaction just wear off with time? Any advise is greatly appreciated!

I have been working with Prince (named that way because he prances when he walks, and because of Tayshaun Prince of the Pistons... not the artist...) and Chloe alot. Sorry I have gotten some flack about that name before.

So heres the update...

Prince is not foaming/drooling anymore, but he is still following her like she is in heat. I think this is due to Chloe maybe having a bladder or UTI... the reason I believe this is because she has been drinking alot of water and it seems like she is not always peeing when she tries to...? I am taking her in to the vet this week. The two are doing better and have been playing alot, but I keep them seperated at night and while at work (when not supervised).

Chloe is the smartest puppy I have ever owned. She is 3 months old, I have had her for less than a week and she knows her new name, comes when called, knows "go to your room" (I keep her in her own room rather than a crate), "sit", "stay", and we're working on "lay down". She also retreives and releases, I think this girl will help make a good name for this breed!

that's the right thing to do. as for your male smelling your female's "area", shaker does that all the time to ALL my females regardless of age.

Thanks for the heads up Miakoda!
I took her in last night, the vet said that she does have an infection, she is on antibiotics now.
