New York, NY -- Two thugs — one armed with a pistol, the other with a pit bull — are being held without bail for allegedly robbing four people on the Metro-North platform in Pelham.
The four victims — a Pelham couple and two guests from Ireland — were waiting for a Manhattan-bound train at about 5 p.m. Saturday when one of the hoods approached them, according to Detective John Hynes.
Without warning, he pulled out a gun and smashed the male visitor from Ireland in the head, said Hynes.
Then he waved the weapon menacingly and demanded money.
The two women started running. One of them tossed her wallet toward him, hoping he'd grab it and run, Hynes said. But he didn't budge.
Instead, his buddy joined him — leading a pit bull on a leash and commanding it to "Get 'em, get 'em," said Hynes.
The gunman eventually snapped up the tossed wallet and took off with his pal.
One of the victims called police, who apprehended the suspects — and the dog — within minutes, said Hynes.
Police identified the suspects as Robert Richardson, 32, and Richard Clark, 21, both of Mount Vernon.
