From what I gather, stud/brood dog's are used to breed moreless because they have a 'high' percentage of a 'good' bloodline. This why inbreeding sometimes is good for preserving that type of blood. Correct?

Ummm... no. A stud or brood dog may have 100 siblings with that same high percentage of "good" blood, but those hundred other dogs may be of such poor quality that it would be detrimental to use any of them in a breeding program.

The ability to produce quality offspring is what makes for a good stud/brood dog.

Inbreeding is done primarily to "double up" on desired genes, and/or to bring out recessive flaws in the line, enabling the breeder to make better decisions as to which way he/she wants their program to go.
