I was told that cow hides could cause harm to your dog, is this true?

As long as they are well processed, which takes a few days, a lot of salt and quite a bit of work.

What are they for?
We use them on our spring poles to give the dogs a workout, but if they break a hunk off we take it away from them.
If you dont have any cow hide, try using old pair of Jeans.

An old pair of jeans, or something of the like, is great for some dogs, but for those who show no interest, a hide will almost certainly get their attention! I recently bought one at a dog show, and every one of my dogs love it!!!

There will be cowhide for sale at the ADBA Hickory Show. Normally it is $5.00 about 6"x12" in size. It will be fresh. lol
What is sold in most stores is raw hide, and is processed with chemicals. Cow hide is cured with salt only and is plyable.
Hope this helps.

I would prefer something thicker than 4'' for a springpole, but those sized strips would be perfect for a flirtpole. Thanks for the link.
I was thinking along the lines of 12'' by 12'' minimum-which is why redgatorkennels is appealing.

Hey, I am interested in hides as well. I have been looking for nice sized cow hides for a while now.
If possible, I can order the 10 hides but for $65 + shipping. I can then have these available for members of this forum.
Truthfully, I don't need all 10 but if we can strike a deal, I can purchase and re-sell to those seeking 1 or 2 hides. I will only keep 2 or 3 at most.
Shoot me a PM if you prefer. I will need to know method of payment and delivery instructions.
You help me and I will help the others. lol
