I was cleaning my pups pen out today and notice two long worms. Looking for any info. on the best dewormer. Pups four months old.

If it was large, spaghetti-like, and white/of white in color it was most likely a Roundworm.You can use Nemex 2, Strongid-T, or Pyran 50. All of these wormers (Pyrantel Pamoate) will remove roundworms and hookworms.


Nemex 2 - 1cc per 2 lbs.
Strongid-T - 1cc per 20 lbs
Pyran 50 – 1cc per 20 lbs.


Panacur (Fenbendazole) is an even broader-spectrum wormer than ones mentioned above. Will remove roundworms, hookworms, 3 kinds of tapeworms, whipworms, lungworms, and lung fluke, but must be given 3 – 5 days in a row (used to be 3, but a lot advocate giving it for 5 (you choice)).


Panacur (Safe-Guard) 10% – 1cc per 4.4 lbs.

Thanks for info. I've wormed him w/ the nemex 2 about 2 weeks ago. I'll try again if no imprvement I'll take him to the vet.
