Im looking for good ideas on how to keep my dog on the mill. He will work it for maybe a min. then he just hops off. I dont know if he realizes that hes not going anywhere or if he just doesent like it. I really need to work him on the mill since the snow here keeps us from road-running/walkikng him in the winter. ANY suggestions would be appreciated....thanks JC

Give him a focus... You have something he likes and put it just out of his reach.. What type of mill are you using?
use 2 o rings connected to his collar attached to each side of the mill then he has to look forward and go forward

THANKS, I did both ideas together and they worked. He took a couple of times but got used to it after a while.

This is what i did. Since my pitdog was really hot in any bait that i put infront of him i just used that.. Then wallllaaaa he's runnin' like an angry roller train. Before i forget, for first timers they should be familiar on your mill, i mean you should put your dog into your mill even if he's not workin out. Just to build the confidence. And also if there someone that is training in your mill you should put your first timer on the side for just him to be familiar to the noise that the mill produces.
Hope that we helped you.
