I just wanted to push gameness aside for a minute, if I may… and discuss mouth. I like short order animals and can’t help it. Having said that I believe mouth plays a major role in the recipe of these types of animals. Or does it really?
Now to say that an animal “ has mouth ” seems to carry various opinions. Though my eyes I believe these opinions are based on three elements. These elements are the physical characteristics, (jaw muscles/ jaw power) the teeth (length /thickness) and the actual work an animal displays with the combination of the two.
By saying the physical characteristics I’m referring to the width and length in relation to the overall mass an animals mouth may have. For instance a long thin bottle shaped mouth in comparison to a short/wide American bulldog “type” of mouth.
Secondly the teeth. Thick/long (deep bone crushing) in comparison small/sharp (Zorro shredding) teeth.
And finally the work an animal displays with the combination of the two. For instance how well an animal utilizes what he has been given naturally.
So what is really on my mind is that next time I hear someone say that an animal “ has mouth ” should I automatically assume it’s the size and shape which measures his or hers animal’s mouth??? And if so… to legitimize this belief, would you place the blame on other undesired traits, as being the reason he wont make the decision to use what he has been given???
Or…. Should it be classified under his ability to do the best he can with what he has??? And if so… should an animal, which is considered to “ have mouth ”, be solely rated under its ability and talent to perform?
So basically… is it the mouth that makes the decision, or is it the animal’s decision that makes the mouth?
