Newport, VA -- A woman convicted of raising pit bulls for dog fighting was convicted in Hampton on Tuesday of violating the terms of her probation.
Rene Schreiber was sentenced to four months in prison in Hampton Circuit Court. On Dec. 14, Schreiber, 38, was convicted in Gloucester Circuit Court for raising pit bulls for dog fighting. Schreiber was sentenced to four months in prison for those charges.
Last year, Schreiber pleaded guilty to a felony count of practicing a profession without a license. Schreiber was cropping the ears of pit bulls without a license, a procedure limited to licensed veterinarians.
A judge fined Schreiber $200 and suspended prison time as long as she followed the rules of her probation.
