View Full Version : What do you think?
I took a couple pics of my pup today at the park and I want to ask you folks your opinion. His lineage is unknown, but based on his pics and stats, would you say he's more likely game bred or something closer to one of the UKC type/conformation bred dogs. I'm just curious and would like to hear some input from you folks who've been around this breed for years. Again, I know it's tough to say but just your initial impression...
Age: 5 1/2 months
Weight: 40.5 lbs

its impossible to tell 1 at this age and 2 with no pedigree, but 40lbs at 5 1/2 months doesn't sound like game bred at all
is it game bread or not?? hahahaha. And if it is gamebred, would you be doing something different with him??? why does it matter if he's game-bred or showdog??? He's a little large for your average bulldog.

Regardless of game bred or show bred....A APBT is an APBT no matter how ya look at it. I mean can a game bred ADBA dog be UKC registered? By all means yes. BUT the only reason you don't see them in the ring is due to "fad" and unchartered waters. I have a lil of both STYLES. But just because a UKC bulkier dog isn't ADBA doesn't mean it can't be ADBA'd nor does it mean that IF you slip a grip on the leash that one won't give your adrenaline a rush. I have a PR UKC bitch that swears she's a 35 pound battle dog. AND....IF given the chance, she may very well change the way some folks see a "UKC style" dog. I mean if one takes an ADBA dog and UKC's him/her....Does that void the gameness?
Just my thought?
Regardless of how he/she is registered, you have a cute pup. What others value here is not to be taken to heart as everyone of us has our own opinion. So with that...Enjoy YOUR style of pup!

However...IF I had to take a guess...I would guess that your pup is probably offa Gaff or Larum. Maybe even a lil Ruffian blood!
Regardless...Good looking dog SO FAR. Show it in the proper registry (according to style) and he/she should do well SO FAR if you have the registrations available to venture into that game. I mean don't take a BULLY dog to a TERRIER event. Outcome will depress you! (lol)

I never understood why people can't either just answer the question or leave it alone...
Of course you can't tell if he's really game bred or not but I was asking about APPEARANCE.
It doesn't matter jacka$$, I was just asking because this is a pit bull forum. Please forgive my curiosity
Yard Dog, thanks for your input... you bring up several good points. I rescued Bishop as a pup the day before he was going to the pound, so there are no papers and I have no plans in showing him. My only plans are for weight pull when he gets older.
Again, I appreciate your input.

yea you keep wondering if you've got a gamedog or not, not that you would know what to do with one even if you did.
LCD, just love what you got and he looks as though he's well taken care of. Honestly, my first impression was that he was a mixed breed. I hope he gives you everything you want in a dog. Good luck and keep up the good work with him.
