The following are a set of rules you are required to abide by to remain in good standings within the community. These rules are set to provide an educational environment and experience for all users. Depending on the severity of the rule or situation, your first offence will be resolved by an informal caution that may or may not be documented.
The Pit Bull Community administration reserves the right to modify these rules at any time deemed necessary without prior or post notification. It is your responsibility to keep up with any changes that are made to ensure that you abide by them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Do not post anything illegal or extremely controversial (unless from a historical and/or educational perspective), offensive (including, but not limited to, excessive or extreme profanity, or content which could be construed as racist, discriminatory, or unsuitable for most age groups, etc.), or pornographic, whether it be a post, image, link, profile field, or private message. This includes not engaging in religious debate. The off-topic thread is not exempt from these rules, only from the discussion of bulldogs.
2. Threads about illegal activities historically or educationally relevant to the APBT must be very clear about the purpose of the thread. If a present-day match is discussed it better have occurred in a country where it's legal, and this must be documented. Post in such a thread at your own risk. Consider yourself warned. GAME-DOG.COM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BELIEFS AND/OR ACTIONS OF ITS MEMBERS OUTSIDE OF THIS COMMUNITY. IF YOU CHOOSE TO BREAK THE LAW, DO NOT BRING IT HERE TO DISCUSS!
3. Do not post images, threads, or replies about yours or someone else's dog(s)acting aggressive/vicious/intimidating etc. regardless of what you think the nature or instinct of the breed(s) is (are). Our purpose is NOT to contribute to the negative image people have of the APBT.
4. Do not copy and paste pictures of dogs from other kennels or provide links to kennels simply to start a bashing thread, especially if the owners of that kennel are not here to defend themselves.
5. Do not release personal or private information (including your own) such as full or partial name, address, phone number, email address, or any other confidential information anywhere on the site.
6. Argue with posts, not the poster. Debating topics are good, but arguing, flaming, or bashing between members or of any off-site person, site, or kennel is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. Firm and direct constructive criticism is encouraged and often necessary, outright insults are not.
7. Avoid advising or suggesting treatments of medical conditions.
8. Do not take advice for treating medical conditions before consulting a licensed veterinarian. There is no way to prove the advice you’ve been given is legit.
9. If a staff member makes a reasonable request of you, it is wise to comply. Blatant disregard of requests will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including banishment, depending on the nature and severity of the situation.
10. Do not post dogs for sale or up for stud. If you feel it necessary to peddle, do it elsewhere. THIS INCLUDES IN PRIVATE MESSAGING!! This site will not contribute to peddling on its public forums or in private. One warning will be issued as a strong suggestion to read site rule #10, then you will be permanently banned.
11. Respect all copyrights and intellectual property rights of others and the site. When posting all or part of an article, include the link to that article.
12. Do not post Private Messages on the public forums unless you have permission from the author.
13. Keep a working e-mail address that does not block email from game-dog.com.
14. Do not post negative press stories/videos about “APBT attacks” as they will be promptly removed. Again, game-dog.com does not contribute to any negative media hype about the American Pit Bull Terrier
15. Do not share user accounts or create multiple accounts. You are ultimately responsible for everything related to your account. Do not represent yourself as somebody or something you are not. If you were banned once, changing your username doesn’t change a thing- you are still banned and every effort will be made to keep you that way.
16. Do not spam, troll, or try to convert non-believers. Offer your opinions and suggestions, but do not force them on another individual.
17. When a new member begins posting, give the same good advice you would any established member, even if the answer to a problem seems painfully obvious. Members join from all over the world and it is not up to you to decide if they are trolling based upon their first few posts or their first impression. Be diligent and observant, not rude! Unsolicited rudeness to new members will result in an immediate 3-day ban with no warning, every time.
18. New Members: Use the search feature before asking a question. If you do not know how to use it, ask. Someone will help you. Some people may get agitated answering the same question multiple times and reflect that with negative comments.
19. Only post things in the correct forum. The forum designations are there for your benefit as well as everyone else’s. If there is a question relating to where you should post, feel free to ask in the Site Support forum for a suggestion.
20. If you post, post quality not quantity. Do not waste space only to raise your post count. If you have nothing to contribute, don’t contribute.
21. When quoting a member in the forums, links, or gallery, (articles, etc.), if the person you are quoting is the last poster, please do not "quote" all of what the person says. Quote only the specific part of the post you are replying to.
22. When someone replies to something you’ve said -good or bad- don’t take it personally. Remember this is the Internet, nobody knows anything about you nor you about them. Often “tone” is misunderstood in the written word, try not to take things out of context. If you are confused, simply ask for clarification in a PM.
23. Make an effort to spell correctly and use proper grammer, including punctuation. DO NOT USE ALL CAPS TO POST IT’S HARD ON THE EYES AND LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE SHOUTING. Do not make fun of someone’s grammer/spelling if they are from another country- it’s unbelievably rude.
24. Do not post in excessively large, colorful or unreadable fonts or use colorful backgrounds which obscure your posts.
25. Do not reply to yourself to add to or correct what you said in a prior post unless it is to bump the thread (which you should report after being successful so it may be removed), use the edit button instead.
26. Avoid one-line posts, unless what is said is best said short.
27. Avoid using multiple characters or smilies simultaneously (e.g. !!!!, ????, etc.), it only takes up space and doesn't emphasize your point any more so than using only one.
28. Keep your posts on the topic the thread was originally created for. For different topics, make a new thread in the appropriate forum. If you feel like chatting, there is a chat room available.
29. Do not post links to sites with content conflicting with these rules.
30. Leave the drama from other forums at the other forums where it belongs. Posting links to educational material is acceptable.
31. Discussion of "rep points" on the forum is prohibited. When someone leaves you negative rep points about something you’ve said, try not to take it personally. We are only anonymous screen names after all.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a gamedog site and it always will be first and foremost. However, ALL Pit Bull owners are welcome and encouraged to come here in an effort to educate everyone about gamedogs and general APBT behavior. That includes some categories which may not be your personal choice. Do NOT contribute to the Gamedog/Pet/Blue debate and do not flame someone for their personal taste. New members: If your preference is a bulldog category other than the gamebred/working APBT please understand there may be limited interest in your posts. Keep your posts of a more general nature if you want positive feedback. All members: If you feel someone is completely out of their element encourage them to stay and learn about the REAL American Pit Bull Terrier.
The Pit Bull Community administration reserves the right to modify these rules at any time deemed necessary without prior or post notification. It is your responsibility to keep up with any changes that are made to ensure that you abide by them.
