who is your favorite dogman past or present? Why?
Personally my favorite is Floyd Boudreaux. He had the best bred dogs in my opinion. He is also a great guy, very nice person. I recently met him at a show in gonzales, la. He was the highlight of the show for me, but it was a great show.

Just based on how they talk to others and share information, I like Lou Colby. There are a lot of dogmen I wont ever get the opportunity to talk to, so I can't form an opinion. I wish I could've met Floyd before what happened to him.

My choice would be the Rebel R. Jones and I have to rspect what I.M. has done with the OFRN dogs. R. Greenwood wasn't the best dogman in his state Nancy S. was.
Never really met any. I've only heard good about Floyd, though.

Lou gets my vote too, sure I am a little biased but the man is a walking / talking APBT encyclopedia. He is a great man, I am very thankful to have met such a knowledgable man, he is always willing to take time out of his day and help a fella out.

Also every name mentioned is well known by HSUS, PETA, and all other extremist groups! Along with another half million small time peddlers, breeders, and "dogmen". Nobody is hidding anything, if you think your are, your wrong! These people know everyone and knows what everyone is doing. That is the bottom line.

dog breeder and dogman are two completely different things, and im sure "dogman" draws heat. do ya wonder why everyone knows who these fellas are?
Jason

Yes they are different but they know both! Breeders, dogmen, doesn't matter they know you! Doesn't matter what others call you either, "game lines" are hot doesn't make a shit who owns them!

my point i keep failing to make JBark is that they wouldnt know sh*t if people wouldnt flap their yap, do ya follow? just because the info has been leaked in the past doesnt give ya the right to continue talkin.

Yeap, I got you Woody. I honestly don't know anyone active anyway, that I swear on! Don't give a damn to meet any active dogman either!
I know a couple that I think a really nice people, that I have alot of respect for but considering the way things are, that's all I have to say about that.I won't mention anybody still alive.Maurice Carver seems like an interesting guy though,if there was a book about him,I'd probably buy it.Like him or not,he sounds like a interesting kind of guy.

Earl Tudor, it was like he was a magnet for people to bring good dogs to. That man has every damned bloodline available come through his place, plus I like his philosophy.
As a breeder I would have to say Carver, no matter what way he papered them, he put a lot of good dogs on the ground.
As a competitor, I take my hat off to the LEGENDARY Earl Tudor

I love John P. Colby (1875-1941) If I had to pick one dog that would be hard.I think he is my favorite because of what he brought to the breed and his family continues to bring to the breed, over a 100 years of knowledge. I read L Colbys book about his father, it was amazing to me , he even autographed the book. We exchanged several emails, he was always very kind and responsive. I even sent him a picture of me and my mutt and told him of my dream to have a Colby dog someday...

Two of the greatest gentlemen I ever met were Mr. E. Morfin Brid and D.S. who breeds the Heinzl dogs.
Of the old dogmen I would say Don Mayfield, George Saddler and Bert Clouse because no one in their time could put a dog in shape like they could.
As breeders, Earl Tudor, Ed Ritcheson, Ed Crenshaw and Floyd Boudreaux because his dogs have withstood the test of time and then some.
Today my favorite breedings are coming from Aries, OHK and the boyz at the AZ Combine. Oh and I love them Kemmer bred dogs too so I guess add Harris to that group.
