Ok guys well hi im new to the site and pretty new to the pitbull world...but i was wondering what bloodline would be good for someone that isn't completely noob to the bully breeds but it will be my first apbt....i want a gamedog but also a bloodline that would let the dog be a companion along with the energy that comes with a gamedog....Thank you all in advance

I think you might mean "game-bred"...

My best advice is not not necessarily concentrate on any one line, but rather look for breeders in your area that consistently produce dogs to your liking and then go from there. Where are you located? There might be local shows in your area that you can check out.

Since this is your first APBT, are you aware of the challenges that can go along with owning a dog from performance lines? I started off with "easy keepers" and worked my way up to the dog I have now (Who is still relatively easy to keep compared to other dogs I have met lol)

I live in Virginia Beach and i guess im not exactly sure of the challenges that go with a performance line I just dont want anything different then the old school pitbulls I hate the way people are ruining the standard

hey, just hang out and learn, and go to shows in your area to meet people and see the dogs. if you say you arent sure about these dogs then by all means take your time and learn everything you can before getting one. these arent average animals and they can be a handfull.

i agree- check out some shows and look at as many lines as you can. visit breeders. it might take some time, but you should be able to figure out what line has the physical characteristics and drive that siuts you best. there are even great ~variances~ in the physical stature of gamebred dogs, some are small ( high 20's#) some are large (60#) some of the great dogs are pretty plain looking and could be confused w/ a lab mix by the general public, alot of lines have a distinct look to them.
best of luck

Are you considering showing this dog? If you just want a pet have you considered rescue?

How about the same queston as TheBreed has but when you live abroad.
I live in Finland northern Europe and we have none APBT breeders in here.
I'd like my dog to be good with people and specially with kids but at the same time to be active who can perform well on tasks like weight pulling, conformation, obidience, agility etc...

Thanks. :D
