What do you consider inexpensive? The best scales hands down are sold by Pullnickle. I believe they are around $145.00 I have seen other scales like the Hanson scales for around $50 - 75. They work very well also.

If you really want a good scale go with a digital scale...I have a buddy that sells them for $30 and up..Instead of hanging your dogs from the scale, you just walk them on to it... If your really into dogs and need a good scale I would go with a 200lb digital scale that will weigh to the oz. The price is around $200 and somethin...If your intrested PM me and I will get you in contact with him.

Depending on where your from. Not sure if there's academy in your area or not. I got a hanging scale that weighs fish (hanging scale) weighs up to 50 lbs for 20 bucks. And it works great.

I bought a postal scale from Sam's Club and with a little modification, it works great (and accurate) for my dogs. Although I still have a hanging scale, I usually use the one I bought from Sam's.
