APBT Poem
I am just an animal but I am so loyal and true
Provide a loving home, be my friend and I promise I would die for you
I will greet you at your door with a wagging tail and a heart of love, every single day
I will always love and protect you and when you are down I will comfort you in any way
I will walk by your side, if you just be my lead
You can teach me tricks; I will listen and do my best to succeed
Thank you so much for being my best friend, most people shy away
Regardless of what they tell you, I will never hurt you and by your side I will stay
You’ve trained me well, and good I will stay, I will try to never be bad
Just because of rumors and lies, don’t push me away, you’d break my heart and make me sad
Yes, I am an American Pit Bull Terrier but I’ll always be there for you when you are in need
Just because people train my breed to be bad, please don’t punish me. Remember: Punish the deed not the breed
I love you very much, please never make me leave: I’m just an animal but I’m grateful for you
Not only am I your best friend, I am very loyal too
My breed is being discriminated against you need to raise your voice
I was born into this body, this is how I am, and I had no choice
Don’t let them take me away just because I am me
Don’t only protect me, teach others, and make them let my breed be.

This is a little poem I always liked:


<TABLE height=640 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=5 width=399 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle width=389 height=640>I see the children in the lane.
They look like friends, we'll have a game.
They've got a stick, oh boy, what fun.
They'll throw it for me and I'll run.
But someone stops me.
I wonder why their mother screams "Don't go near those
Horrid Dogs, come here, come close
They're dangerous-I'll tell you why
They bite little children and they die."
All I can do is watch and sigh,
Cause now I know that Pit Bulls don't cry

Mom cuddles me up and says, "My pet
We love you dearly so don't you fret."
But I love everyone out there.
Why can't they love me, I do care.
I wish they weren't made to pass me by
I'm a Pit Bull, I don't cry.

I sit behind my padlocked gate
From early morn til quite late.
When I go out, it's on a lead.
Is mine the only heart to bleed?
I'm held in check as the world goes by
I wish the Pit Bull heart could cry.

There are some dogs, and also men,
Who cannot tell a foe from a friend.
So all of us must bear the blame,
Expected to live a life of shame.
Condemned, alas and we know not why

All we know is we will not cry!
