This is for the new members of the forum. Alot of you are coming in here guns blazing and just saying whatever you want to whoever you want. You need to realize that this is not cool, not even for a minute even. Next time you get ready to spout off at the mouth like you're somebody, take a minute to reflect and realize that you're just going to make yourself look like an ass "*". YIS, DJ.

Yeah GBDJ your right. It seems to be the case a lot of the time around here. Its either that or you just come across the typical whiny asses who bit*h and complain about everything because they have nothing better to do. But we all know calling them out will do nothing. They will still come around once in a while rub stuff in, whine and complain, then leave and not be seen for a while.
While all along everyone else cleans up the mess they left behind tries to contribute to the site and wonder why they even come here in the first place? But it will never change, you just have to roll with the punches and pretend those people are not even here because they always will be. No matter how much you call them out and tell them to show some respect.

What in the hell are you talking about?
I was a member of a biker site and we had a special titled section called "GFY", go _____ Yourself.
It was a place that when you were sick of someone, you could pm them and invite them over there and tell them how you felt, or call them out on BS.
I think that would be a good thing here. I dont cuss at folks, but sometimes I'd like to tell folks how I feel w/out breaking forum rules.

I say we have a cage match. The winner gets bragging rights, and the looser never returns. after a certain amount of time has passed, if no winner has been decided, we put a poll up.

Yeah, long live The Pit. I mod a forum that used to have a section like that, before it got redone. Kinda disappointing it never got used. :D

respect is due to people who give respect just because a person may sit here all day and rant and rave about bsl or what ever doesnt meen you got a modern prophet untouchable by the lowly new comers. you could have a new comer with a hell of a lot more experience in the breed, and may not want to hear a whole bunch of gripe from some teenager behind a screen. not everyone wants to answer a million questions because you think youre a better dog owner y'know what i meen. this goes on a lot some people simply like questions answered.

Reguardless of what a person "wants", they need to show respect. If respect is given, it should be recieved. YIS, DJ.

as long as someone is calm and curtious how they mite be to a stranger on the street i dont see why they would have any problems at all. but some people tend to assume someone is new and cocky so they attack the person. otherwise the person may just want to discuss topics and not have all this negativity.

Agreed. There have been instances lately that were a bit out of hand though. Thats what this thread stemmed from.as long as someone is calm and curtious how they mite be to a stranger on the street i dont see why they would have any problems at all. but some people tend to assume someone is new and cocky so they attack the person. otherwise the person may just want to discuss topics and not have all this negativity.

now this isnt directed at anyone personally, it's just an observation
Sounds like some are confusing respect with simply being polite and well mannered. REspect is earned through one's character, actions, deeds. And in my honest opinion, you have to know the person to truely respect them. And not everyone respects the same things. But that doesnt mean everyone cannot be polite and curtious to the next person regardless of level. Someone that goes around demanding respect isn't someone who deserves respect. This is the internet. How does one really know if those behind the screen names are what they claim to be?
Those in the military know, you respect the rank but that doesnt mean you respect the person. Why do you think you salute the Generals car even if he isnt in it? lol

I see your point. Thats exactly why one should do a little research to find out who they're talking to. There are some heavy hitters in here that have been in the dogs for longer than some of us have been alive. There are also some undesirables in here that you wouldnt want to talk to anyway. Look around a little and read some posts. It just might save you some face in the long run. BTW, Being polite and well mannered is all part of showing respect IMO. YIS, DJ.now this isnt directed at anyone personally, it's just an observation

Well, some people think that straight talk is being rude or un polite. I am a preacher, but I aint one of them preachers who puts sugar with the truth. I call a spade a spade, and whether you like it or not, truth is truth. Now sometimes I am wrong. Sometimes I am not necassarily wrong, but follow a different code of ethics than others. From what I understand about the constitution, I am allowed to pursue happiness, as long as I dont infringe upon your right to pursue happines, and if we bump heads, the gamest dog wins!!!
I recon I have been around my dogs too long to try and be politically correct. I wasnt when I was an outlaw, and I sure aint worried about it now that I am not illegal!!
As to the teenagers behind the screen thing, I am sure there are some. A newcomer is not, in my mind, considered a dumb novice, but you can tell a tree by its fruit. And when the fruit of their posts show that the fruit is rotton, I see no reason not to shine the light on it. That helps to keep the real new folks in the game from following a fool, and ending up in the newspaper, and in jail next to that dumb female who said that the 17 year old german shepard was being abused and malnourished on the chain, and went and stole the dog and tried to be a martyr for the ar cause. I just dont like folks like that.
