Okay I am looking more into blue's pedigree and have found some watchdog and I found a website with watchdogs on it that has a dog that is in blues pedigree.... blue diod seem to get better looks but...... what more is there to know about these dogs? Most of the watchdogs I have seen.... well look like big blue bully dogs and I know blue looks like that but....... that is my fault for not conditioning him. I have spoke with someone from UKC and she said he would not dog good in an adba ring because the blue color is a trade mark from amstaff... When I got his papers back I paid extra for a 6 gen pedigree.....
Someone said a while back that he had hog hunting lines what are those? Just trying to learn more about him and what characterisitics he should have?

i beleive the watchdog line was created for "Gamebred blues". They may have been at one time but like many other lines they fell into the wrong hands.Just as the OFRN strains have.Probably somebody somewhere that has them doing what theyre supposed to ,but good luck finding them.
This dog was said to be something but was never officially titled due to looking to clean.

any dog that has a high prey drive and will gladly take a hold on a hog is a hog dog. and his offspring could therefore be called hog lines as long as they possess the same traits as their parents and throw those desired traits in the offspring. as for the watchdog line, imo, it should be terminated.

The watchdog Bloodline was developed by Kc Courteair. He did Test his dogs. He liked and bred for Large Blue gamedogs. The first generation of the watchdog bloodline were said to have been gamedogs. Kc was only breeding the apbt for a short time, Before he moved on to Am Bulldogs. As for the line today, well lets just say since Kc moved on to Bulldogs the line has went to complete Sh#t. With helth problems galore. Big Game

New Watchdog dogs are nothing like the old Watchdog dogs. And even so, the older ones were still a tad bit on the larger side.
Most of the Watchdog dogs I see down in these parts are 90+ lb English Bulldog wanna-bes that are suited for nothing more than being a pet. I personally haven't even found anyone around here that even uses the line for hog hunting.
As for being a hog dog, let's not forget that APBTs are not necessarily the best catch dogs. Of course I'm an APBT lover & fancier, but I will honestly admit that the AB and Catahoula Bulldog can often times outshine an APBT any day. (But the biggest issue with APBTs is the dog aggression. Numerous off-leash dogs + high stress situation = disaster)

To actually find old watchdog that hasn't been bred to look bully and still has the original attributes that casey was looking for is becoming few and far between i know of a few people who know alot about the bloodline and could tell you alot more if you want to send me a pm i can give you a message board to go to that there are alot of ppl that would be willing to help tell you more about the line. Here is couple of dogs a buddy of mine owns. These two are about the tightest actual old watchdog you will find now a days there is very few but their out there.

An AmStaff breeder that I have great respect for, but who is unfortunately no longer with us, has mentioned health problems with the Watchdog line. Most specifically, heart defects. So even though your boy has limited Watchdog blood, it'd be something to keep an eye out for.
