Sometime in the near future I want to purchase a new dog. I don't have any contacts with breeders or anything like that... so how do I go about finding a responsible breeder with good lines? I just don't know where to start. I would LOVE some OFRN if I could find some nearby. Everytime I search on here about kennels and such people are all hush hush about it so I don't know how I am supposed to research kennels and stuff without knowing anyone. TIA

go to a local pit bull show and ask around, meet the breeders.

Start by getting involved. This means find some local shows to attend and do some meet-n-greets with owners there. Get to know people personally and research all you can.
Unfortunately, looking to get in the loop online doesn't amount to a hill of beans because you have no earthly idea who is really behind that other person's screenname. And there are more reputable owner/breeders that do NOT do business online than there are that do. I know many who want even deal with you without meeting you in person and getting to know you as they don't want their dogs to go to just anyone.

Then go to that show. I'm pretty sure there will be shows in NC and GA as well.

Goto a show or find out if there are any APBT clubs in your area.

I also live in SC. Upstate. Anyway, the best thing to do is to attend some dog shows. ADBA and AADR have a lot of shows near us on a regular bases. I have a friend who runs some of the OFRN line and she's probably closer to you. Maybe w/in 45 mins or so.Try Old Glory Kennels. She had some good dogs representing that blood, and should be reasonably priced. Good-luck.

thanks. i will check it out. are you planning on going to the greenville show?I just gained interest in the showing events. When is it? Where in g-ville is it held? I would love to start showing my apbt's. My good friend @ Wildside kennels is always pushing me to attend shows. He says it's the gateway to better things. He 2 is a sanctioned show judge and says my dogs will bring my kennel easy points.
