I had to take Hemi to the vet today. Since we went to the dog show he had a bad case of Dirreaha. He is up to date on his shots and all, I thought it was strange that he started all of that after going to the show. The vet said that he tested negative for any worms or parasites. Said that she suggested that he not eat( little Chicken and brown rice) and drink very little tonite. Gave me some immodium said to watch him and see how he does. He hasnt been lathargic at alll maybe a tad bit slower but he still seems to be very happy. It is just sad to see him going through that. She said it could be from all the horse crap out there. I will keep you guys informed ....

I hope he gets better really soon, :) It could just be as simple as the moving around that has upset his balance, glad to hear it isn't anything yucky.

Not to worry,he'll bounce back he looks like he has a strong will, just do what the vet said,by what you said they didn't sound worried at all so just give him a little time and he'll be giving you hell once again.

I am sorry to hear about Hemi - nothing worse than the dreaded "D". My little staff has always had stomach issues (including 3 obstruction surgeries). The brown rice and chicken is really good, I have had even better results with lean ground turkey and I boil it to get all the fat out. Good luck!

Sorry to hear. Hope he feels better soon...I agree that it might just be the traveling. We brought the pups (this was quite a few months ago) to get their rabies shot. When they got out of the crate, before we got them to the grass, they had "D" and made sure to get in on the concrete. It was pretty embarassing.

Dogs can get stress diarrhea. I see it at work when boarding. And my Mike gets it at shows from all the excitement. The last fun show in Alabama he had diarrhea and he vomited in my boyfriend truck. I had to go to the gas station and get an Immodium AD for him. And he had it for 2 days after. But he bounced back from it. Now I know before shows I will give him some. I am glad he is ok.

Sorry to hear that. At least it doesn't sound serious. I know Buck got ill the last time he ate some horse crap. Luckily, he didn't do that at the last show.
