I am not a breeder and I do not plan on doing any breeders, I will leave that to the people who are more knowledgeable. I do have a question for all of you who are familiar with breeding and why things happen.

After the breeding 'happens' why are the dogs 'stuck' together, rear to rear? Is this true? I was told that they're 'stuck' like that for 15 minutes or so.

Just curious on what this happens and if it's truthful

I have looked at many peds online and seen pictures of the sire/dam standing rear to rear and wondered why they 'posed' them like that, come to find out it was not a pose.

Thanks in advance for the responses!!

the males "unit" becomes enlarged and swollen so they must remain attached until it "shrinks" back down to size. I've heard that the reason this happens is because the male dog doesn't want any other dog to breed the female so he remains "attached" for as long as possible to assure that his "deposit" will fertilize the female and not some other dogs

Remember that our dogs came from wild ancestors. They stay rear to rear to protect themselves from attack. Boi Boi gave you the other reason.

The manhood does enlarge but it's actually the bulbus glandis that makes the tie.The bulbus glandis is at the base of his manhood that swells and causes the tie.

They also do that to somewhat prove that those dogs did mate. Instead of just saying i breed this bitch to (insert name of stud here).

Instead of just saying i breed this bitch to (insert name of stud here).well its more of a natural thing...once the "humping" is done..they turn facing different ways for protection. but thats true they do that but a good breeder keeps DNA on file because a bitch can have half the litter from one sire and the other from another, so the picture doesnt really mean shit

True, i know it is a natural thing just saying most people will take a picture for some prove our to show they have been breed like i said.

but ya i understood what your saying. but like dogs reproductive system is different from humans cuz thier sperm doesnt travel they cling on the walls and wait for the female egg to come to them, the process could take a week. thats y 2 different sires can father the same litter. just my scientific fact for the day..hah

Am I the only one? Is that why I have so much trouble and am always told NO WAY?....LMAO
