Alright so tuesday I'm working at a different store in Miamiasburg, OH first shift 8:30 to 5:30, well I'm on my way out start my truck and its sounds like I have a hole in my exhaust. Well I roll over to my brothers and my catalytic converter has been cut out of my truck, what a b**ch. Thats a nice way to start off working in a different location. So far it sounds like its going to be around $225 to get a new one installed. And when I filed the police report they had several others the past few days. What is this world coming to? Are people fencing them to repair shops or selling them for scrap? It just sucks.

I know that I saw a story on the news about this going on, it seems to be the latest trend.

i saw a similar news story on fox 45 news out of dayton (my neck of the woods).
i can't recall the element that's in there, but it goes for a high price, i guess, causing some folks to jack your cat converter and junk it for cash.
and yeah, it sucks that things are getting this way now-a-days.
sorry to hear you had a bummer first day at your new location.
i have a buddy who was my sous-chef at the restaraunt i used to work at in centerville (formerly eclipse dining, now savona ristorante)...he was from the burg, and also had his cat converter stolen off his grand prix gt while it was parked in his driveway. but this was over 2 years ago.

If you have a V6+ or trucks, run the car without a cat. Just make sure that their is a o2 sensor on the down pipe/straight pipe. It might not pass visual inspection but will pass emissions. I've done it for years! :)

I don't know but around here they go for 200 to 250 depending on who you sell em to exhaust shop or scrap yard...I use to work at a pull apart you would be suprised what folks will try to steal off your auto.
