I dont have to many guns but just recently you could buy ar15's in cali so i am trying to slowly but surely put one together. I got my lower put together and i was right about to buy an upper but instead spent it all on ammo since the prices started going up so fast. Now i got 1000's of rounds for guns i dont even own. I have been shooting my .270 recently though. I cant wait to get a pig.
I would like to get into reloading someday too though.

You can buy an AR15 in cali now? You dont have to be an officer? Any links on that would be appreciated...

I know what you mean,I have been trying to save up for an M-1A.I bought a bunch of mags when cheaper than dirt had a big sale, got on e-bay and bought a bunch of .308 brass and no gun!Now I'm waiting for a democrat to get in the white house so the mags will be worth $$.That would be the only thing good about that.

sad thing is that a democrat will more than likely win.hillary has stated numerous times that she would love to melt guns and make playgrounds out of it.not much time left to buy high capacity magazines at a decent price.i for one am voting mccain.

my personal weapon is a Springfield XD40 SC...i love that handgun. at work i shoot an M249 SAW, and sometimes i shoot an M4 Carbine.
The two that I enjoy shooting most are my S&W 41 and my S&W 1911PC.

I don't think you can buy an assualt rifle in california, I think that's we he's trying to put it together. I have a little collection myself. Nothing major, 5 semi auto pistols, couple of revolvers, 12ga 18" 870, hunting rifle with a leupold scope. Have more toys to play with at work. We're isued Sig p226. Nice gun, it's dao, so the trigger sucks a bit. I love shootoing though, targets, deer, rabbit..

I personally don't own any handguns yet, but my boyfriend and I like to shoot from time to time. He has quite a few. I don't want to list them, because like you said, it's politically incorrect, and I don't want someone coming to take them away, but one of our newer ones is a KelTec P-3AT. We plan on going getting our Concealed Weapons Carry Permit, but haven't done it yet. I am still pretty new to shooting.

i like reloading shotgun shells but never got into rifle or pistol shells,,, you can load them hot but if you go to hot then it's liable to scatter the shot faster so you could hurt it if its too hot of a load,,, we'd reload till the brass split,,,lol,, l

Dont get use to those guns...If Hillary Cuntin is elected you can kiss them all goodbye. Anything with a magazine will be considered an assault rifle and made illegal. Nice huh? She will do away with everything that has to do with firearms over time.

All I got for now is a Mosin Nagant 91/30, single shot 12g that was my grandpa's, Remington 870 Express. Just got paid and am picking up a Glock 23. Next on the list is AK-47. Then hopefully K98 Mauser, M1 Garand, M14, then AR15. I love military rifles. :o

AK's are one of the simplest, most reliable assualt rifles since its conception...no other weapon has been in every single war/ conflict after WW2, its a rifle that has changed and molded the majority of the world governments/ military. ANYONE can pick up an AK and be taught everything about it in minutes, that and its reliability is why militias worldwide pick the AK. its history speaks for itself there...but if i had to pick a classic weapon i would choose the chi town choppa...haha thats right the thompson baby.

I could spend more on something "nicer", but that pretty much defeats the purpose of having a cheap dependable gun. They have some for $7-$800, but for that money I can get a AR-15.

If you are looking at ak's stay away from the wasr. I dont personally own one but they are bottom of the barrel. Check out the vectors or the M70's. I think the m70's are yugo

I have to agree the mini 14 and mini 30 are awesome weapons.I own one of each and the best part is there are not on any ban list's........yet!Another good choice is an SKS.They are a blast to shoot and will feed just about any type of 7.62 ammo.It used to be super cheap to shoot, but now $$.Anyone know where to get cheap ammo anymore?Lead is going through the roof.I asked a buddy about that and he told me the Chinese are building 15 nucluer reactors and they line them with 17 feet of lead.
I love seeing all the ladys that shoot,I taught my little girl to shoot when she was 6 yrs old.Shes in high school and can out shoot most of the boy's.

any Kimber is a nice piece.I've shot my friends CDP and wow are they fun to play with.Super accurate.i was gonna go for the cdp II .45, but since the birth of the handgun, through 2 world wars and any other major conflict, the 9 mm has killed more ppl worldwide than any other caliber handgun.
and since most altercations involving handguns take place at less than 12 ft, you better hope your first shot hits its mark.
and how often i shoot, i consider myself a damn good shot, and you can bet your ass i'll have my target re-acquired a helluva lot quicker firing a 9 than a 38, 40, or 45.
:D
1100 bones was a bit of cheddar, but like you said, it is a really nice piece.
monday after i picked it up, i put over 400 rounds through it, and it didn't lock up or jam once. better performance than i can say for my glock 19 or s&w 1911, both of which will encounter problems every 100-150 rounds. and both of those have over 5000 rounds through each one.

Even with rapid fire (13rds) I was hitting the kill zone @ ~15-20yds. Only had 3 outliers from all 250rds miss the target and that was @ >25yds rapid fire. Purely user error :o

I agree the 9mm has come a long way as far as bullet configuration...but so has the 45acp.When I started to do some combat type shooting, out of all my handguns nothing imo came close to my para p14 45.John Mosses Browning had his shit together when he came up with that one.It was a sad day when the millatry dropped it.But I see alot of them are going back to it.i was gonna go for the cdp II .45, but since the birth of the handgun, through 2 world wars and any other major conflict, the 9 mm has killed more ppl worldwide than any other caliber handgun.

but that thing gets cleaned regularly, has the springs changed every 2000 rounds, etc etc.
i'll say the g19 has less problems than the s&w 1911, but problems all the same. and it's not that i'm using cheap ammo, or ammo with too much kick behind it (possibly causing the next round not to load properly, or whatever the case may be), or somehow managing to load my magazines improperly.
you can call olde english gun shoppe north of dayton, OH where i got all of my pistols from. every gentleman who you talk to will tell you the same thing. they all used to recommend glocks, you know, since "they're the preferred sidearm of law enforcement nationwide, blah blah blah."
but after getting their ccws, and actually carrying the firearm and using it on a more regular basis since it was part of their daily routine, not a single one of them out of over a dozen carries/recommends a glock anymore. and i don't think all of their firing problems/reliability issues were due to user error.
jmo, and it's based off experience.
that's not to say either one of those won't give me a tight 2 inch grouping at up to 10 yards. after 12 yards, it's hard to keep the .45 tight firing "rapidly." the g19 i can keep in a good 1.5-2 inch group up to 15 yards. i don't waste my time with much more range than that, since if i ever have to fire on someone, chances are it'll be closer than that.
so you like your g23? i'd actually considered the g27, kind of small, but the sub compact actually fit my hand fairly well. (the .40 is a fun shoot, not much diff from a 9 though, we can argue that til the end of time). but i opted for the kimber after talking to a few guys for a couple hours at the store, firing one of theirs, and seeing what they bet their life on with carrying.

.22 shooter here. I love taking relatively long shots w/ my 10/22 out to 100yds on rabbit and squirrel. 10/22 modifies like a mo-fo, so I can switch from the heavy stock and barrel to the pistolgrip, short barrel w/ my BSA red dot scope and give them coons some bad news! Got the .357 w/ .38 +P Hydrashoks (I dare you to break in), more shottys than you can shake a stick at .410-12g. Fixin to pick up a <50rds fired AK in about a week and I am AMPED!!! Love the M-4 and the M-249 was a great friend of mine for a year, but for knock down power and never say die reliability, Mr. Kalishnikov had his sights right. That springfield XD has got my eye. Love the OD green!!! So that is next on the wish list.

I dont want to buy a POS just because the price is good but a .243 is what I want for next deer season. We just got 800+ acres to hunt next year. The lady who ownes the property lost her husband 5 years ago and the land is all grown up. It hasnt been hunted since 2002. She said if we (TripleJ and I) manage the land and get her house back in shape we can hunt it. She said we can put a camp out there and everything. Should be a blast next year! Literally. :)

I have put well over 5,000 rounds through that gun over the years and i haven't had to make 1 single repair to it, and who knows how many was put through it by the first owner. I bought that when i was in AZ one time at a pawn shop when i was laid over. wrapped it in towels i swiped from the motel and had to tell the boss at the yard it was a part for my truck i was working on so i didn't get in trouble and get that gun taken away from me.
But i would highly recomend a gun made by that company. they make good guns at a good price and they do last a long time.

Waiting on my FOID to come back, so I can purchase "my" first :D
Debate has been ongoing since I turned 18, whether it will be an sks, mini-14, AR, AK, or if I win the lottery, G36c.
Anybody got one laying around they wouldn't mind turning into cash, let me know.
If I haven't found a deal by the time it gets back, I'll be building my own AR or buying this:
http://www.gunsamerica.com/976951595/Guns/Rifles/AK-47-Rifles/Folding-Stock/Black_Widow_AK47_Tactical_Tactical_Forearm_Hologra phic_Sight_Vertical_Foregrip_MOR.htm
Should be a fun, cheap gun I can spend more on ammo in a day than the rifle itself :D
Waiting on the reviews and durability of my favorite gun to come back in, the new SIG 556. Anyone own one of these?
